Crazy Commercials #1: "Thick-Headed" · 1:05pm Feb 6th, 2018
This next blog series won't be daily, or necessarily even weekly. Like the Jokes series, it'll happen when it happens. Tomorrow, I'm starting a similar thing for music videos.
Let's take a look at one of my all-time favorite silly commercials:
I love commercials that set up a simple joke and deliver it with razor-sharp timing. Added points for when it's a wordplay joke, such as this. The stinger at the end just puts it over the top. 
I remember this, wow do I feel old. It’s funny I remember dumb shit like this, but I forget to get from the store what I originally went there to get in the first place. I can recall the old V-dub commercials nearly line for line, but bring home milk? Nope.
Man, that guy is such a Dumass. Wait, I mean dumb ads.
Fun bit of information: I had (he moved away) a friend who called people "dumb ass" whenever they said slash did something dumb. After this commercial first aired he started calling them "Dumasses" for a while and half our group didn't get it while the other half refused to explain the joke.

My uncle is fond of calling people "Dumass" like the commercial.
The fact that that was a commercial would not have happened today. Sort of like the BLEEP don’t stink commercial for the Super Bowl.

What do you mean "sink?" That was a perfect commercial: It was short, caught and held the attention right away, showed the product as soon as the punchline was delivered, and most importantly, it was direct and didn't preach or pander. There was no question what product was being advertised, and it was being advertised to someone who is exactly like me: Needing a tall, frosty A&W like, five minutes ago.

Yep, this one's a classic that sill makes me laugh. IIRC, it premiered during the Super Bowl.
