In which Ice Star is sorry for a stupid mistake. · 1:43am Nov 21st, 2017
Remember when I rewrote and polished some of my older stories? Namely, TCWK and ToM? Well, when I was going over it again, I decided to look over chapter fourteen, because chapter fourteen in both versions was one of my favorite chapters in TCWK, and I loved the redone version I know that I had made too, mostly because I re-did every freaking chapter.
So, when I go back and instead of finding chapter fourteen - an important part of the climax with confrontation between Cady and the villain and some great dialogue - and instead I find that the new version of the epilogue was pasted there... so two chapters consist of the 18th chapter... and I don't know why.
This means that the redone version of fourteen was lost, and why? Because when I went to search for both the new and old files for fourteen, all I found was the original draft back from '16 - and it hasn't been touched since.
I don't remember all the edits I made to the new version, and I'm so, so, so sorry for a mistake this stupid going unnoticed for months. ToM was harder to redo than TCWK, so I had never saved any of the redone chapters and have only the originals. Or I deleted the file and its gone forever and that was so stupid of me.
Until I can find the time to create another version of this chapter, I'm sorry to say that the old version I found a cache of will have to do for now... I'm sorry to everyone who had to read the current version, I really am. D:
Oh yikes. Losing words like that is the worst.
I had a story once where I hadn't properly backed it up and I lost like four whole chapters. Auuuuuuuuuuugh.
Well, I never read it, so...
oof

Four whole chapters?! You poor soul. After losing words like that, I usually wallow for a while...
I lost my flash drive which is the only copy I have of everything I have written today for like two minutes and freaked tf out. (It was in my jacket pocket)

A modern day tragedy with a twist ending. Simply beautiful.

That'd be enough to get me to bail on the story, probably.
It's not chapters, but if I ever lost any of my music project files, I would probably cry in my room for three days straight.

...How do you keep finding your way into my content...?
And yeah, this certainly sucks, and that would too - I've lost content before but I'm still going.
4731262 I always try to keep going.

My to-read list is super long, so I'm not there yet, but "The Company..." is in my read-later list, so when you tagged it in this blog post, I got a notification.
Also, you write Best Princess stuff? I would think that would be obvious.

It's part of why that one set a personal record for longest I've taken to finish a story, I abandoned it for about two years at that point.

Ah, yes! Love that feature. And Cady is indeed a good princess horse, so unless you've gone through any of my main stuff already, she's in those stories a lot.

Would that story happen to be Rebel Moons since it's the only story I see without any update in that time frame? Or is it unpublished?
I usually force myself to write after a day or two of losing material. I've never lost that much before, but I've lost some incomplete chapters and scenes that have plunged me into a frustrating spiral until I moved on.

Oh heavens, no, this was a non-pony story I was writing in the late 90's.
4731530
I remember the '90s...
But maybe I shouldn't.
4731532
He he he. I remember the 80s. *Shakes cane at everyone*

*gasps*
The eighties? :O
