I don't usually make back-to-back blogposts, but this is a special occasion. There's a new Chrisfic!
Well, sorta. There's new Chris ponyfiction, anyway!
If you haven't seen it in the past couple of weeks, amazing ponyfic author/editor/jack-of-all-fanfic-trades cleverpun as started publishing chapters of a collab about... well, why don't I let it speak for itself:
Cadance and Twilight have discovered something about the Alicorn Amulet. Whenever someone rejects its promises of power, it weakens the Amulet's magic. In theory, if enough ponies should be tempted by it and reject it, it would destroy the amulet forever.
They summon the help of volunteers from across Equestria, in the hope of destroying it for good.
I wrote a chapter about--who else--Carrot Top and her attempt to resist the amulet's lures, and it's just gone live. If you want to, you can read my chapter as a stand-alone (all you really need to know about the setting is contained in that description), but I'd highly recommend reading the whole collab. It's only four chapters so far, all with very reasonable wordcounts, so it's not like you're signing up for some doorstopper-level reading before you even get to my stuff. And besides, there's some great authors in here; Titanium Dragon is a name I'm sure you've all heard, for example, and he's got a great take on Twilight up already. And the chapter after mine is FanOfMostEverything's take on Ditzy, which you definitely don't want to miss. The point is, there's some great stuff in this collab, both already published and upcoming, so now's a great time to get in before it starts to feel overwhelming.
Plus, you know, Chrisfiction. Hey, you wouldn't follow me if you didn't want to read my stuff, right?
Anyway, go check it out now. If you want to know more about my writing of it and what I was trying to accomplish, I'll have a blogpost up at One Man's Pony Ramblings later tonight about this story, but this post is your official notification that Carrot Top vs. Alicorn Amulet is now available for your perusal. I hope you enjoy it more than Carrot Top enjoyed her go at the amulet, at least.
It's been an interesting concept so far. It's a good example of a character study. Will be checking out your chapter tomorrow!
