A Whole Bunch of Chrisfics, Now Available in Spanish! (The Epic(?) Conclusion) · 6:55pm Oct 28th, 2023

So! A bit ago, I blogged about how SPANIARD KIWI had translated a bunch of my stories into Spanish, and how I thought that was pretty darn awesome. And there, everyone's favorite disembodied ball of ectoplasm commented, "Only four of your twenty-one fics not translated? Here’s hoping they complete the set soon! :scootangel:"

Well, fret no more, Ghost Mike! The time has now come, when you never need to read a single word of English to enjoy the complete (published-on-FiMFic-complete, anyway) ponyworks of Chris. Behold: everything else:

The Fall of Discord: La caída de Discordia
To Make a Spark: Hacer una chispa
Wyrmlysan: Wyrmlysan
Bantam Tales: Cuentos bantam

For entirely understandable reasons, KIWI went with a fairly literal translation of Discord; I can't imagine trying to translate it and maintain the alliteration! But as always, it's clear that the final product is the result of a lot of care, and if you're in the market for some de-anglified ponyfic, I hope this will scratch the itch. At the very least, I feel comfortable saying that if it doesn't, that's on the author and not the translator.

(Sadly, Pascoite and other discerning readers everywhere remain unable to read my pirate- and wizard-themed childhood productions in anything other than good ol' English. Ah well, consider it one extra incentive for the rest of the planet to hop on board with our jury-rigged lingua franca)

I guess I’ve reached the point in my Fimfic presence where I can be casually referred to by a notable, established user in the opener to a blog of theirs without needing any kind of introduction. :pinkiehappy: What a proud day this is.

Regardless, great news, even if I shall have to continue to read them in regular English myself. I had presumed those four weren’t translated by deliberate intent, either on Spaniard’s end or yours, as they seemed to mostly be odder, offbeat entries (not least the minidisc compilation). Happy to be proven wrong!

I can follow most of the Spanish, but Wyrmlysan seems like a stretch. They really mangled the title on that one, didn't they?
