War rages throughout Equestria. The return of the Crystal Empire has seen years of strife and millions dead as Princess Celestia’s forces strain against Sombra's seemingly endless hordes.
However, the entry of Freeport’s forces turn the tide in Equestria’s favor. Archon Sunset Shimmer and her army smash into the fray, breaking the long, brutal siege of Manehattan and shifting the balance in Equestria’s favor. With Sombra's army falling back to his home territories, there's finally reason to hope again.
If only they knew something far, far worse than Sombra loomed on the horizon.

Wait..... Where does this fall in the winningverse timeline? I thought these two narratives were connected, but I don't remmemer anything about a war and millions dead and Manehatten under siege. That would have been mentioned wouldn't it? Confused.
This wouldn't perchance happen to be set in the timeline that Rising Fire came from in Blood and Iron and that Starlight and Twilight retconned out of existence, would it?
Regardless of wether or not it is, the title coming straight out of the Book of Apocalypse makes me doubt this particular story will have a particularly happy ending.
On the one hand, this sounds epic and cool.
On the other hand, I'm not sure if I want to get on board with another alternate winningverse dimension.
Oh who am I kidding you could literally make a fic about an alternate timeline where specifically nothing happens and it's just like Cloud Kicker sitting in a white room watching paint dry and I'd still trust your judgement enough to give it a chance.
This seems intense.
A sequel/spinoff? Oh man.

Wow, gonna explore that little alternate dimension are we? Look forward to it. Hope Rarity isn't a zombie though, not sure how sane she would be if she saw herself rotting away. I could see her covered in every preservation spell in existence before she would let that happen, or even figure out vampirism or something.
Alternate timeline of an alternate universe? Now you just need other timelines to cross with this one midway and you'd be well and truly down the rabbit hole.
But seriously, eagerly looking forward to this, especially given what we know about Rising Fire already. And the history of that timeline's Rainbow Dash.
I am both overjoyed that we're getting a new, incredibly awesome looking Winningverse story, and frustrated that I now have to wait even longer for other stories to update. Oh well. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Huh, so now you're delving into that backstory? I never expected that, with how much else is already going on in the Winningverse (I only follow the Freeport stories and I know there are already quite a few running plot threads). So Sunset is still in that dimension when the war breaks out, was curious about when the divergence point from canon was. And yeah, by the end they probably wish they only had to deal with just Sombra trying to take over the world.
Great artwork, yeah, this is probably going to be very dark and messy.
