The Lead Singer Of Linkin Park Is Dead · 6:25pm Jul 20th, 2017
Guys, I normally don't go hard on real life news in here, but something upsetting has happened.
The lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, has apparently committed suicide. I checked the sources and they seem legit, but you never know honestly.
However, as for now, Linkin Park's lead vocalist and the driving force behind the band since the beginning is dead. I've always been a fan of the band as a whole, so this saddens me.
Just a friendly reminder, if you have depression or suicidal thoughts, get help. I'm not here to tell you how to live your life, but just remember, depression can affect anyone and there's no shame in getting help if you need it.

May he rest in peace, he was a talented singer.
WTF? :O Damn ... R.I.P and may your music also rock on. \m/
Terrible news. I know people had their little jokes about Linkin Park, but I really enjoyed them. Meteora was such a great album. RIP
Fuck.
A Thousand Suns remains one of my favourite albums ever made. Listening to it now is going to be a much different animal.

I know the feel. Mine is a toss-up between The Hunting Party and Meteora, but same difference.
He was a major part of my growing up, at least musically. Some of his music helped me through some very very rough times. This is kind of crushing. Still not quite sure how to make sense of it.
Man, I remember loving their songs a few years back. I still enjoy them, just don't listen to their stuff as much. It's a shame to learn the way he parted as well...
I have nothing to give but all my feelings for his friends and family.

A lot of us, especially in this generation, feel similar I imagine. This is a tough one to accept for me, too.
May he rest in peace, god damnit... I grew up with them when they did the ending songs for transformers!
May he rest in peace, and be beyond pain and sorrow.
May his fans remember him not for how he died, but for how he lived.
Damn this one really sucks. Hybrid Theory was the first album I ever got, I think I got it when I was 10. Kept listening to all of their stuff as I've grown up.
Fuck
Damnit, My first concert... I begged and begged for tickets for Christmas, Grandma told me first thing that she wasn't able to get them. I got a bunch of Linkin Park stuff shirts, buttons, etc but I was still bummed. Then she lifted her coffee cup and handed me an envelope Two Linkin Park Tickets! Front row just behind the mosh pit area!
I was 14 years old and I still remember how deaf I was and how I had no voice. Thanks for those wonderful memories Chester. RIP
Oh and i'm dating myself but that was the Hybrid Theory tour. Fan from the get go.
Yeah it was pretty shocking to hear. Linkin Park was a big part of my childhood, and its sad to hear that he hanged himself. Hopefully his wide and kids will be able to move on.

Yeah, I remember buying their album Meteora when it came out. I was just branching into teenager-hood and thought they were so cool. Loved the lyrics. When my father passed, a lot of their music really helped me along the way of accepting change and life's ups and downs.
I really wanted to see their shows with Blink 182 this year, but unfortunately, that's not gonna happen now. Just, God Bless everyone who struggles with suicidal thoughts and whatnot.
Why did he commit suicide? Do they know why he got so depressed?

He's had a history of mental struggles and drug use, plus one of his closest friends committed suicide a short time ago. The real reason is unknown, but I imagine all those were factors.
I'll miss him. I love Linkin Park music. In The End will always be one of my favorite songs.
I know I haven't been the most loyal or enduring fan of LP, but I saw them in 2013 and 2015 for their Living Things and The Hunting Party tours. I chose the song "One Step Closer" to study in my music class of grade five at primary school, and I rekt the hell out of my old discman by playing Meteora literally thousands of times during high school. Live in Texas, likewise, almost ruined my PS2 during study sessions before it was stolen out of my car. "What I've Done" was cool before the Transformers movie came out, and that was often a fave track to play on Guitar Hero World Tour.
Also, as a big fan of the Saw horror movie series, it was awesome to see him play a role as one of the victims, Evan, in Saw: The Final Chapter. He went from "Crawling in my skin" to crawling out of it, and those particular wounds didn't heal either.
Good memories though. The world will mourn his passing for years to come.
