So, some good news, bad news time.

I just finished my term of employment a few days ago. Contract was up, and I left with a two-pronged glowing new mark on my CV from both the place I actually worked at and the local government agency that put me there, so it was a year well spent. :pinkiehappy:

The 'problem,' is that I made such an impression, that I'm getting reshuffled into another year-long position ASAP (Tuesday).

And moving up to full-time employment, instead of the previous 75%. :yay:

Oh, and it's about twice the daily commute. Not that far, because the previous place was within spitting distance, but the travel-time is still going to add up.

Needless to say, a good list of 'problems' to have, but it's definitely going to eat into my free time compared with previously.

Still, I am still writing. Even currently trying out a new writing technique I figured out that seems promising.

(Short version? I make brackets if there's a paragraph that I get hung up on, with a comment on how I'm intending the scene to go. Letting me keep my momentum going without loosing track. We'll see if it pans out, or going back to fill those skips will eat up all time gains.)

As such, Chapter #9 of Dark Horse, Kallisti, is currently at 3219 words, ~30% done or so.

Think it's going to be just a tiny bit controversial, but also clarify quite a bit just what both sides are fighting for and what the possible stakes are. Something that judging from your discussions and pre-reader feedback has been...

Well, to be blunt I wanted quite a lot of the pay-off to be 'subtle but dire consequences,' and most of the proverbial darts actually landed on 'as opaque and clear-cut as writing on the inside of a granite slab.' So I'm moving to fix that in 'beta' before the '1.0' hits you guys.

Still, I'm feeling pumped for this next chapter! Think I've found an aspect of MLP I haven't seen explored in as much as one other fan-fic—and given how this fandom works, that's saying something! :pinkiehappy:

Really looking forward to seeing the reactions to that. :yay:

Well done man.

I can be patient, I'm always patient.

So, long story short, you're suffering from the "sin" of being too good at your job :rainbowdetermined2:

Much as i'd like to see more of Dark Horse sooner rather than later i'm even more in favor of the author taking the time to make sure it's done right and good authors taking care of them selves so that we can eventually get even more from the author.
