RIP Peter Sallis · 6:59pm Jun 5th, 2017
‘Wallace and Gromit’, as I’m sure it was to a lot of people reading this, was a really important part of my childhood when I was growing up. It’s easily one of my favourite pieces of television – such lovable characters, amazing artistry in the claymation, and also just some very funny, very charming, and very memorable stories.
I don’t normally get upset over these sorts of things, but damn if there aren’t tears poking at my eyes right now.
So maybe we should all take the time to sit back, eat some Wensleydale, and watch some Wallace and Gromit tonight, yeah? Take the time to smile, since that’s what Peter and his voicework have done for us – put smiles on our faces.
Awww man... And it was through Wallace and Gromit that I learned how to speak my first words.
I re-watched A Grand Day Out yesterday. What a coincidence and a great memorial to the good chap.
I’ll buy some wensleydale and watch their adventures on the moon tonight, for his sake.
Godspeed, you wonderful, charming old man.
Well, he hasn’t been the voice of Wallace in recent years, but that’s still a darn shame. In his memory, I dedicate the Wallace and Gromit theme to him.
Aw, that’s so sad to hear. RIP Peter Sallis. We will miss you.
I had only re-watched A Grand Day Out a few days ago and have been listening to the theme tune today before I heard the shocking sad news. Wallace and Gromit has always been a part of my childhood and it saddens me that such a great man who gave life to the voice of Wallace is now gone from this life.
Rest in peace, Peter Sallis. You were a cracking inspiration to us all.

Damn, that’s sad. D:
That was very saddening for me when I heard about it.
