So, I think one crossover is enough, but I had ideas for a sequel.
If I did a sequel to Duelists of the Autumn Crown, it would ofc be Rainbow Rocks-based. I'd open up the summons to include Synchros and Xyzs, and the Dazzlings would use one of each of course; Adagio would have Melodious, Aria would have Symphonic Synchro, and Sonata would run Lyrilusc (Lyrical Luscinia) Xyz. And it would be a three-on-three tournament with the CMC being worfed to the Dazzlings and the Rainbooms arguing over who gets to duel. I'd also switch Pinkie's deck to Madolche because that was always my preference for her.
I'm not gonna do the fic though because A, I think the concept has run its course in terms of what I want to do with it; B, another tournament arc would be boring, except that both Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games' actual plots pretty much ARE tournament arcs; C, it would rehash a lot of themes I'm already touching on already.
Buuut, I did have one idea that in the final battle, Sunset would step up to duel Adagio and take up Twilight's duel disk and deck. And by the power of plot convenience Twilight's Harmony Spirits are transformed into the Harmony Guardians, Pendulum Monsters which include Sunset in their number as Harmony Guardian Compassio, as well as a new corresponding support Spell for Sunset and a new Field Spell. I even thought "If I write this, I'm gonna end the chapter with Sunset calling out 'Using the Scale 3 Harmony Guardian Compassio and Scale 5 Harmony Guardian Magia, I set the Pendulum Scales!' and it'll be big and epic because I haven't been using Pendulum Monsters yet but I never said I wouldn't and now Sunset has transformed Twilight's cards into Pendulums and zomg it'll be awesome."
But yeah, not gonna do it. Still, wanted to make the cards. So head below to enjoy the sister series to the Harmony Spirits, the Harmony Guardians.
Very cool concepts. I agree that this would be a retread of what you're currently doing, but thanks for sharing the component ideas.
I would have skipped Rainbow Rocks and gone straight to the Friendship Games, because that has a lot more potential for cohesive storytelling and it has Midnight Sparkle. But yeah, it would be a lot of the same.

While I agree that Madolche is a good aesthetic fit for pinkie, the fact that they are a full on control deck seems a bit unlike Pinkie. She doesnt seem the type to want to turn it into a one player game. If not for the fact that only twi has pendulums, i'd say performapals would be a great fit for her.
It really would be interesting to see Sci Twi in this universe. I never saw that part of the Yugioh franchise what used Pendulum so i can't say if this is a good add to this.
If i am correct the xyz and synchro monsters are those cards what can fuse without Fusion card, well at least i think they are if not forget my words before.
You know. After reading your story, I now DESPERATLY want more events to take place in this universe. Your style of writing duels works very well, and I know you could design good decks for any analogue you found. My one concern is that you appear to be limiting yourself (Rather strangely in my opinion) to sticking with the canon location (the same high school as the first movie) for a future series. The simple solution if one side of a crossover isn't giving you what you need is use the other side. Lets have the girls go on a grand Yu-gi-oh style adventure for summer vacation, complete with magic artifacts connected to a shadow dimension, super powered cards the series will bend over backwards to avoid using after their initial season has passed (Hi sacred beasts and God cards! see you get used maybe once a season if that after your introduction!) and, of course, no real adult supervision ANYWHERE TO BE SEEN! (except for plot purposes, oh hey Joey's Parents! Where've you been!)
