It turns out this story has a Polish localization. · 6:10am Feb 9th, 2017

So, as people who follow my blog know, I have a tendency to Google my username. This time around, I found a Polish translation of the tagged story, located here.

Me being me, I decided to run the given name of the story, Wolny Wtorek, through Google Translate, and to my confusion it told me that Wolny Wtorek means "Free Tuesday". There's another alliterative phrase in there, Piekielny Piątek, which translates to "Hell Friday", the translator's chosen interpretation of Furious Friday. I pointed this out to a friend of mine, AndrewRogue, and noted that the translator decided that the alliteration was more important to keep than the exact meaning, which I'd have to agree with. AndrewRogue then pointed out, "dude, your fic wasn't just translated. It was localized for the Polish audience."

So I sat back and thought about it. And that's a pretty cool feeling, being localized.

If you click on the Google Doc link inside of the link provided, you'll see that I left my mark as well as made a comment on the blog thanking the translator, which apparently double posted(I blame technology). So yeah, if any of you are native Polish speakers, go for it.

tl;dr one of my fics was localized into Polish and I think it's pretty cool.

You are indeed big in Polad.

Polad is a small gulag that hosts three people, all of whom were allowed one means of human interaction. They were given the choice of following you on Fimfiction or being locked in a room with Brock Lesnar.

I'm still not convinced they made the right choice.

~Sincerely, the Warden

Congrats, that is pretty cool.

4415210 I know of two Polish people on FimFiction. I wonder who the third one is.

4415211 I thought so as well.:pinkiehappy:

4415213 ...

Not sure if you understood that I'm mocking a little spelling error in the journal tags, or if you genuinely think Poland is a three-man gulag.

4415215 oh shit i didn't even notice that
gimme a moment to fix that

Nice! Oftentimes, a localization is the best translation.

Huh, that's interesting. I'm from Poland, but I read everything I can in English. I'm also a professional translator, so that probably helps. :P

Still, congrats.

That's awesome. It just goes to show that you've "made it"... or something.
