IN WHICH I AM ASHAMED
There's a reason I usually sit on my stories for several days before posting them. Because I use no outside editor or prereader, making sure that grammar works and dialogue flows is completely on me. I accomplish this by reading the story aloud while looking at the words and then tweaking stuff when needed.
I didn't do that with my latest chapter of Mayor's Break Time, and dear lord did it show! I was just rereading it and found SO MANY errors that I somehow missed when I posted it on Saturday. And they were stupid errors, like using the wrong conjugation of "crash" or accidentally repeating "had when" three times. Those are rookie-level mistakes that an experienced writer like myself should have caught. I wish I could blame my being drunk – it was New Year's Eve – but I didn't actually start imbibing until midnight (at which point I downed most of a bottle of red wine because f**k 2016 and my life).
I have fixed the mistakes, and offer an apology for putting out such low-quality work. My (three) loyal readers deserve better.
I now return to trying to figure out what to write next.
