Tomorrow is Election Day in the US · 5:24am Nov 8th, 2016

Go vote.

And if you see voter intimidation going on, call the police, the Election Protection Hotline (866-OUR-VOTE), and the Department of Justice Voting Rights Hotline (800-253-3931). And possibly the local news, to get them to come out and tape the idiots doing it.

Vote for Pip Diamond Tiara!

But seriously, do your civic duty. Know the issues and vote.

I despise both candidates. Niether have a shred of moral fiber between the two of them.

Voted by mail last week, I have done my duty.

4289956 You can always vote for someone besides them, or just don't vote for that particular category. Because, while the presidential election gets a lot of media attention, there are most likely other things, like Congress, state, and local elections on the ballot, as well.

Lower level stuff is very important. Your house rep, your senator, your governor, your state house rep, your state senate rep... these are all important positions.

And there are local positions as well, not to mention state ballot measures.

Though seriously, it isn't like the Clintons burned down the country the last time they were in the White House.

I sent in an absentee ballot two weeks ago. I'm all set, general AND local. Hopefully my vote wins.

4289977 that is true, and BIll did some good- hard, hesitant emphasis on some-, but HIllary.... well, you've seen all the crap. hell, the entire country of Haiti hates her guts. Trump is a horrible option as well, but HIllary's done just as bad stuff as him, if not worse.

4289956 then vote third party.

It seems that the near end of this year are combining with tragedies and enjoys.

Bad things: Intimidation during the election of you Americans and the death of the King of Thailand.

Good Things: New leaders will rise in both countries.

Combined things: Those leaders turned out to be tyrants or incapable of doing works.

Just saying that this is a weird near end of a year.

The Republican strategy this year is to discourage Democratic-leaning people from voting. They know that they can't get people to vote for them, so they try to get people who aren't on their side to not vote at all by shouting about how horrible Clinton is.

Think about it - can you actually cite one thing that you can't Google and find out it isn't what the Republicans said it is?

FYI, the Haiti thing is a good example - the Clinton Foundation's role there was ultimately pretty limited - about $30 million dollars raised all told, which is only a tiny fraction of the overall spending. While Hillary was secretary of state at the time, her policies were in line with past and future American policy towards Haiti, which has generally been to try and foster economic development which results in money coming back to the US, which is how the US has run its foreign policy for decades.

Indeed, a lot of our foreign aid comes in the form of paying American companies to produce stuff and sell it overseas - that's one of the reasons why cutting, say, our $4 billion/year in aid to Israel is so hard, because it is really $4 billion/year to US arms manufacturers.

I think the bigger question is how much they took home.

Nothing. There's no evidence that they lined their own pockets at all.

This is in sharp contrast to the Trump Foundation, which has now been barred from raising money in the state of New York and has spent $258,000 of other people's money to settle Trump's legal problems (and possibly bribed the Attorney General of Florida with $25k to drop the Trump University lawsuit in that state).
