Next Week Comes Story, This Week Comes Possible Cover Art · 7:11pm Oct 22nd, 2016
Hello everyone. How are you? I'm just recovering from a bit of a cold, but aside from that I'm doing quite well.
If you frequent the AppleDash group you might have already seen a post regarding a story that is in the final stages of editing. It's title (or at least, its working title) is True Victor, and I'm hoping to release the first chapter (of about eight, I think) next Saturday if editing goes according to plan. It is around 30K words long, so obviously editing all that takes a bit longer than if I edit chapter by chapter.
It's more reliable, though.
The story itself will be about Applejack training for a series of athletic events alongside Rainbow Dash, and it alternates between their struggle during training (and, hopefully, the events) and their friendship. I'm pretty chuffed about the story, and I'm excited to release it, so be sure to check it out when it comes out. I also might be releasing a second, more comedic story alongside it that I've been sitting on for a while, but I confess I've not decided about that just yet.
Today, though, I'd like to talk about cover-art. Since I've been playing around with my new graphics tablet (as I mentioned in a previous blog) I went ahead and drew three possible cover-arts based off of the same basic shape. I haven't quite decided which one of the three I'm going to use, and since I like showing stuff I've done (regardless of how shoddy my drawing skills might be) I thought it'd be cool to post them in a blog and see if anyone wanted to chime in with opinions.
(You might want to zoom out a bit, since they're a bit big. Size didn't bother me since FimFiction makes cover-art smaller anyway)
I'm personally leaning towards either the first or second, since I'm not sure the third really fits the tone of the story.
I'll probably also release additional drawings related to the story as the chapters trickle through. If I do get around to releasing the first on Saturday I'll be operating on quite an organised schedule, so there shouldn't be any long waits in between chapters unless I either get really ill, or really drunk. Or both, as the case may be.

I kind of like the 2nd one best. The first one... eh, AJ's leg looks off somehow. I think the third one is my next choice, though... I like the impressionistic quality of #2 and #3 best.
Also, is the title "True Victor," or "True Victory?" I ask because the titles are different between the first and second.
