Special thanks to AShadowOfCygnus for pre-reading and Shachza for editing the coverart. Both at the last minute, of course, 'cause that's how I roll.

In case you were wondering, the story isn't exactly autobiographical, and it's not exactly not autobiographical, either.

In case you're from a part of the world that doesn't have them, Hallmark is a kitsch store. They sell greeting cards (hence the name "Hallmark Holiday"), the kind of gifts that you buy for someone when you don't have any idea what they'd actually like, and Christmas ornaments. They actually have really cool, limited-edition Christmas ornaments.

Paddywax candles are a real thing.

I tried to think of a good pun off of Yankee Candles, came up with nothing, and then started googling scented candle companies, and how lucky did I get there?

MyStable is from the MLP Comic Holiday Special.

From the Wiki

I suppose I also could have used ponybook, since that's also basically canon.

I hate Smile, Smile, Smile.

Let's end on a cheery note, shall we?

There's a pony for just about darn near everything!

It just passed auto-approve.

I publish the blog post slightly before, so that I can put a link to it in the story.

4240386 And in my embarrassment at being too lickety-split fast, I edited my comment so that I'm now just referring to pony apps.

:pinkiehappy:

It's better now--back in the day when everything had to go by moderators, sometimes it took a while before the story got approved. On one of mine, the blog was up for nearly two days before the story passed moderation.

You hate the Smile Song!?

4240396
With the burning passion of a thousand suns.

4240394 ...

And the idea of editing a link to the blog into the author's note five seconds after the blog post goes live never occurred to you.

4240399
There's a link in the author's note. Or there ought to be anyway. I'm pretty sure it's there.

You hate Smile Smile Smile?
YOU LIIIIE

4240414 I'm saying it's possible to just not post the blog until the story is definitely live, and then almost immediately after posting the blog, add a link to the author's note.

Instead of posting the blog post first.

4240433
Oh, yeah, I could do that.

I got in the habit of doing it this way because of the delay between submitting and when the story was approved (I couldn't assume I'd be awake when the story went live), and now a lot of my readers are accustomed to seeing this kind of blog post and then knowing that they need to be on the alert for an inbound story of some sort.

You'll have to read the story to find out :trollestia:

If it exist, there is a pony of it, no exception.

You not liking the Smile Song is actually shocking I LOVE that song but to each their own I guess I mean I don't like This Day Aria from A Canterlot Wedding I just find that song boring

I'll probably skip this one. I hate equestria girls with a burning passion.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I got to

I hate Smile, Smile, Smile.

:fluttercry::pinkiesad2::raritycry::applecry:

Well I saw that last image and only one thought pop into my head: Dang that must be some good coffee. :rainbowlaugh:

4240591
I have my reasons for hating the song, and they're good reasons.

Fair enough! Although you can imagine them as ponies.

Ponies in a world with cars and Hallmark stores, I guess.

4240653
I have a good reason for hating it. And that's what counts.

4240734

Well I saw that last image and only one thought popped into my head: Dang that must be some good coffee. :rainbowlaugh:

That's the best image of Harshwhinny I've ever found.

4240746 I have to agree with you there.

4240644 same here I fucking HATE Equestria Girls but only the movies the fanifics I have no issue with

That's where we get our vast array of sci-fi ornaments. When we can find them all, our Christmas tree becomes a beautiful display of spaceships.

4240791 just in general I don't do anthro or human (HIE and ponies on earth are fine)

Mrs. Harshwhinny, princess of infrastructure and inconvenient but necessary bureaucracy.
