The Princess's Gift + General Bodyguard!AU Update · 1:59am Aug 22nd, 2016
Hi everyone!
The sequel/prequel to "The Masquerade will be up later today, depending on how fast my editors are, so I'd like to take this moment to talk about the format of the AU and other affairs.
This upcoming fic is going to be the last installment of Bodyguard!AU for some time, and it's going to be posted as standalone. A few users have asked why I haven't posted them all as a compendium or in a single fic, and this is because of personal reasons. I don't want to go into detail about what these are, but I hope you can all understand.
Now, I'd like to talk about the timeline.
The in-story timeline is the following: The Princess's Choice > The Princess's Gift > The Masquerade > Sleeping Arrangements > The Queen's Secret Crush.
However, as some of you have noticed, all these fics have been written in reverse order. I'm marking them as such because I'd personally prefer people start with Queen's Secret Crush and end at Princess Gift because of the writing. QSC was written nearly three years ago, and my writing has improved exponentially since then! Obviously, though, you can read them in whatever order you want o:
I don't know if I'll be writing more for this AU. I think I've had my run for now, which is why I really went all out on this new one. I incorporated a lot more of Earthsong's wonderful worldbuilding, and it's the longest non-related EL thing I've written in a very long time (15k!).
There was also a little prophecy I sneaked into the new story just for giggles, but the more I've though about it, the more I've started forming an idea for it, so who knows! Maybe we're not really done yet, but if we are, then I'm very happy it'll be with this new story.
Though Injuring Eternity is what got me started here, it was the original BG!AU ficlets that really immersed me into fimfiction and the raritwi fandom, and I'm pretty sure I would have never written Enchanted Library had this AU not paved the way for it. So, I'd just like to end this with a huge thanks to the incredible Earthsong, and a huge thanks to everyone who's stuck with me and this AU since 2014.

Despite there being no more Bodyguard!AU, I will still be watching with interest. Here's to more stories from my one of my favorite authors!

I can certainly understand that you as a writer know when an idea has run it's course, and I'm sure if you feel like this fic is the perfect 'leave on a high note' fic, then I'm sure I'll agree!
Oh, they're all in reverse order? I knew the last one was first but I assumed it jumped around other than that.
Well, while it's too bad there won't be more for a while, I'm sure you'll enjoy being freed up to work on other things.
