So, remember how I said I had no sequel in mind for Hurricane's Way aside from maybe exploring the past stuff with Hurricane and Clover?
Turns out, I lied.
For a while, I've been thinking of some other pegasus customs for Rainbow to pull Twilight along for. One of which that came up involves a pegasus' most obvious feature: their wings.
To me, pegasus wings are their pride and joy, and their most demonstrative features aside from their ears. Rustling wings? Nervous pegasus. Fluffing feathers? Happy or fuzzy-feeling pegasus. Wings flared out wide? Scared pegasus or action ready pegasus. Wings flared but kept low, pegasus crouched, with ears pinned back and pawing at the ground like they're seconds from opening a can of whoop ass? Stone Cold Steve Austin pegasus.
Just pretend that was funny. Kthanks. Also, imagine this guy as a pony. Weird, right?
Anyway, I wanted to do something a bit different than the usual "give a feather" thing, or the "wingboner" idea. Or even some notorious AppleDash whore 's idea for public groping feathermarking.
So, I went with something I thought simple, but elegant and applicable: wing hugs. And not just "hooves and wings hugging tight," but just laying one's wing across their friend or lover's withers and holding them close while they walked, or while they laid together. Something that tells the pony in question their valuable enough to be held under wing, but also tells others "this is mine, mess with them and I'll break your face."
Not quite the "meet the parents" set up I know a lot of you wanted, but I think this is a bit more interesting. Well, that, and I just want to play with this thing that's been nagging at me for a while.
Tl;Dr: more of Zomg's TwiDash kissing inbound. Just gotta get the damn fic written and find some art for it.

And not really. That's still more like your feathermarking thing. I mean more like ... hmm, I could've sworn this happened somewhere in the show, but kinda how you'll see a couple wrap their arms around one another's waist. Except with the ponies, it's a bit easier to just lay a wing across their back as they walk.

I have definitely seen and know of that
movieTV showthing you are referring to. *Applejack eye shift*good for you, getting creative and making your own pegasi customs. Xenophilia made quite a tidal wave with it's customs and traditions in the pony world in general, it's really nice to see someone actually get something like this going.
More TwiDash sounds like quite the treat, especially with the added possibility of more world-building here and there. I'll be sure to check the story out when it's completed.

The expressiveness of their wings is one of the biggest reasons I love Pegasi so much. Especially since the show animators started taking more advantage of it these past couple seasons. Rainbow in particular has been a joy to watch :-)
