Clone!Pinkie Pie Spotting and Canon Validation · 9:38am May 23rd, 2016

So I heard that the latest episode includes a reference to clone!Pinkie still being alive. Well, okay, I didn't "hear" it. I saw a buttload of fics in the featured and popular boxes, all using the same screencap as their cover.

I'm not ecstatic about the reference. Now the fandom is going to repeat all the same fanfics and plotlines from the first time the clone episode aired, and they were already fairly cliche the first time.

Conveniently, I already wrote a story about Pinkie's clone the first time around. I would be remiss if I didn't make some comment on this development, however, considering I Am Not the Actor was one of my first popular (dramatic) stories. I don't plan to add any more to the story: I've mentioned in the past that the story can't really have much else added to it without being awkward, repetitive, or contrived. It's nice, however, knowing that my fic doesn't clash with canon so long after it was written (not that it really mattered, because of that whole AU thing).

That's not to say one couldn't make some interpolation that related the show version and I Am Not the Actor's version of events, of course. Perhaps clone!Pinkie from I Am Not the Actor settled down in Manehattan after Celestia helped tutor her. She probably even learned enough things like tact and restraint to avoid the main six when they happened to be in the same diner. I suppose if Twilight had spotted Pinkie, then she might have wanted some closure. Even as a princess, however, Twilight can still be shortsighted and tactless. So who knows.

Also, Pinkie developed a love of fedoras. It makes perfect sense.

That blog post was considerably longer and less interesting than I had pictured.

DUUUUUN!

I, too, dread the inevitable resurgence of Pinkie clone stories.

We know the same pain.

Well the mirror pond was covered with a massive stone that took Big Mac and Twilight to move.
So no resurgent of Pinkie storm
But it was always believed that on or two got away. It was proven they can learn and it if there was any time then them maybe one would become different enough to be it's own pony. But I still doubt that Pinkie Pie got trapped since she had the experience of her life and not just the memories, if they had one.

Perhaps Pinkie always had a love of fedoras, but was unable to express it for personal reasons that her clone overcame.

Meh.

I say twist it around. Maybe the other one is the real Pinkie. :duck:
