I know I have some of you added on Discord.
I got a strange message from someone this morning "from" someone on FIMFiction inviting me to a Discord server. Said server requested that I scan a QR code to join it using my mobile Discord app.
I'm 99.9% certain that it is just a way to hijack people's accounts, doubly so as I was unable to reply to the person in question.
I randomly poked my nose back onto FIMFiction today, only to discover that ObabScribbler posted a reading of one of my stories earlier today!

A bit of an unexpected surprise, but I got a message yesterday from Spaniard Kiwi that they had translated ten of my stories into Spanish.
I'm glad to see there are people still working on bringing stories to folks who don't speak English!

Wonderbolts are indeed a military organisation. An ineffectual (see "Sonic Rainboom," "Secret of My Excess," "Twilight's Kingdom" to name but a few) one, which appears to fail in any practical role it is called upon for.
You're kind of less inclined to forgive things like that when they don't even seem to work. :)
3929293 I think we can safely forgive them in "Secret of My Excess" and "Twilight's Kingdom," considering the nature of their opponents. One involved fighting a dragon, which is something that even the Mane Six have a pretty terrible record at. Heck, the Wonderbolts actually have a better one, given that they actually managed to do a bit of damage instead of just getting tossed around or running. The other involved Tirek and Discord - two of the strongest entities in the series. Sure, they were technically ineffective, but when you're facing someone or something that renders even some of the strongest characters in the series ineffective it's not exactly great evidence that you're useless in more normal circumstances.
...I've got nothing for "Sonic Rainboom" though. In that one they done goofed, plain and simple.

"Even Mane Six" is hardly a great excuse when they're military, though. If they couldn't fight Tirek head on, they could, for example, set up an evacuation and hide from him, thus achieving some measure of applicability. Instead, they just went ahead and got themselves taken out...

Oh, yeah, that makes perfect sense. I just completely forgot about that super secret location in Equestria where you can hide from Discord, the obscenely powerful spirit of chaos who can basically warp the fabric of reality to his whim. And I also forgot how the Wonderbolts had the ability to instantly teleport large groups of ponies to this location without magic, thus preventing the duo from tracking them as they performed these evacuations to this never-before-seen sanctuary. How silly of me.

Secret of My Excess: SUDDENLY FUCKING DRAGON. I doubt "dragons" are within their normal purview. But they did get a couple hits in before SUDDEN OBSTACLE WHILE CLOSING IN ON 600MPH.
