The health of Antarctic penguin colonies is an important indicator of climate change, so there are cameras set up to do this, which take thousands of pictures, requiring penguin counting. This is a near-impossible task for image recognition software, so is best done by an online army of citizen scientists.

You've got me addicted to Serengeti Snapshot now. >.< I keep finding myself with spare time and drifting over to it. I watched Zootopia again last night and found myself idly classifying the animals from the Serengeti. *laughs*

Be careful. It's very easy to lose the entire day this way. You just sit down to classify a few images.. and when you next look at the clock, two hours have passed
