A special note concerning the Persona EG chapter "7/1 (Fr)" · 8:16pm Feb 20th, 2016
You probably should not read this post until after you have read the chapter. Quick note before the cut: The LTE version of this chapter is going about half an hour to an hour after the FiMF version.
Part of the delay for this chapter is that I ran into a serious problem:
There's no logical way I could make the usual Persona 4 style "YOU'RE NOT ME!" thing work for Applejack.
I mean...she doesn't hide anything. She's as simple and straightforward as they come. Everything she is, every thought she has, every emotion, it's all there out in the open, all the time.
Apple Bloom is the same way, and without any kind of Cutie Mark drama for the EG version, there just wasn't anything to work with.
The battle that ended up going into this chapter won't make sense to long-time readers, nor is it supposed to. If you waste too much time trying to figure out what the hell's going on here, I promise all you'll do is give yourself a headache. Trust me when I say that in time, you'll understand what happened in this chapter. The Reaper showing up is not a (total) copout, by the way; it's part of something larger I can't actually explain right now without giving away something big.
I'm not entirely happy with how this one turned out myself, but frankly, this one just...didn't really have any way it could have worked.
(Also, Applejack's ultimate weapon is integrated into her battle costume.)
In all likelihood, after the story is finished, I'm going to back and rework this chapter, extending the battle past one round. It's my weakest battle chapter yet and I freely own up to that. I wanted to do more with it than I ended up doing, but it just wasn't working out.
Don't worry, though. On 2/28 (thereabouts) we'll get the next Hunter Shadow, Cancer, and that will be a truly HUGE battle that I hope will make up for this suckfest.

I kinda liked the fight myself. The WTF reactions from everyone was pretty damn interesting. It makes it good that the battle is so unusual.
Personally? I'm fascinated! You created some bizarre new class of metaphysical entity that even the exposition NPCs can't identify and that Death itself abhors! So much so that it breaks into where it doesn't belong just to eliminate them! As far as I'm concerned, you have no reason to apologize, so long as you explain this eventually.

3767210 The Reaper is the "Guardian" of Zodiac, since it's basically a program, he is Norton antivirus. (New Headcanon name) He goes around, eliminating "Viruses" and anomalies in the programming, including going after the gang, and Red Flag's influence, since they don't belong. It treats them like unapproved, third-party programs, and so, Norton comes to "clean" the system.

I had all the confidence in the world that you would explain what the eff that was, but I didn't think it was a bad chapter in the slightest. You handled the issue of Applejack the best way you could, and you can't fault yourself for that. Don't be too hard on yourself honey.
Don't beat yourself up, any chapter that adds such a level of chilling mystery is a good one in my opinion.
