Need an Artist to make Coverart, any takers? · 3:49am Feb 15th, 2016
Hey all, I've got a problem.
Angelea, my regular artist who made the cover to Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen was commissioned by me to make a coverart for Equestria's Changeling Queen and the Abyssal Empress, a while ago... a long, long, while ago.
Unfortunately, due to personal issues and problems, she's been unable to continue after leaving a few drafts, see here:
It'd be easier for me to ask someone to simply vector these in, but neither of them are actually even close to complete and were works in progress with characters not exactly in the right place etc., before Angelea told me she can't do it anymore.
As such, I'm looking for takers and recommendations for pony artists. If you do require to be paid, please have examples in comment/pm and rates.
I'd prefer the cover art done in vector, like the MLP style, but I'm open to other options.
Requirements of cover art:
1. Alternia (as she is in drafts), Celestia and Chrysalis, must be here, and they must be on a boat, (will give details depending on artist's ideas)
2. Colored, vector or otherwise
3. Looks good (duh?)
So yeah, if anybody is interested, and I'm looking at some of the people who did the work in the art compilation, put a comment down.

If youre cool with paying a 60ish dollar commission you should totally ask Balthasar999. You can see his work on my page and his if youre curious. He works fast, too.
I could digitize one of the already drawn drafts and color it.

He's totes worth it! But yeah, he charges 60-80 for a full spread with color. he goes as low as twenty for just line art depending on complexity though. He's flexible!

3755150 Sorry about that, well yeah, Celestia in the first one is too squished to the side, and the bottom one was made with the idea that they'd be on a sailing boat... which isn't the case with the story.

He can draw other styles, he just prefers pseudo realistic.
Could I do it? Yeah. Have I practiced my ponies? Of course. Do I have the time at the moment to do a fully fleged cover? No. :(

I wish I could help out with the cover — the first one with the ship looks absolutely amazing, but I lack the art skills to complete it...

3755527 I noticed that too! I didn't know that was an art thing, though in hindsight, knowing what I know about mathematical patterns in art, it really isn't that surprising.
Are you looking for someone to finish these in particular? Or are you starting from wherever the new artist wants to, but with these as the samples of the kind of thing the artist should base theirs off of?

The final price can be negotiated but I mainly work as:
Commission Cost + Fixed Hourly Wage
H/W $8 per hour
5 hours
A4 image* $40
$40 + (5x$8) = $80
* this is my assumption of the cover size from first glance (this can be changed)
