Oh come on. · 1:40pm Feb 7th, 2016

Why do I want to write a what if story based on Sombra's line that he considered keeping Private back when he pulled him into the past? :twilightoops:

It just keeps popping into my head frequently, the most prevalent version of the idea is Private having ended up being raised as his son and heir, taught dark magic and when the Crystal Empire returns is an obstacle for Shining Armor and Cadance when they arrive to protect the empire from Sombra. :rainbowhuh:

Why must my over-active imagination always try and make stories out of the simplest throwaway lines. :twilightangry2:

Seriously, I created an entire TMNT fan fic series simply based on "hey what if Donatello switched with his evil counterpart," line I threw during a brain storm session discussing story ideas on a TMNT forum.

So the basic idea is this, as it's said in.... hold on, I'm going to continue after the break.

So as I was saying, on two occasions Sombra muses that if the time spell he used to pull ponies back in time didn't send them back a week later, he actually considered just keeping Private. Now the general implication of it was more that he wanted to keep him to continue to study him and experiment on him.

Lately, however, I've actually been considering what if it happened, what if the time spell for some reason didn't send Private back? He was stuck with Sombra 1000 years ago as a six year old colt. The thing is, I have two different Sombras, the one in power and control of the Crystal Empire and the one in Possession, no longer in power and is desiring revenge over his enemies and return to power.

The one still in power is actually calmer and more level headed than the one no longer in power. He hasn't spent 1000 thousand years in exile. I personally like to think that Sombra still in power would entertain the idea of having an heir to his throne, he wouldn't probably be the father of the year, but I think he would consider the possibilities of raising a child as his own, mold a pony into his own image.

Now whether I actually write this story or just keep it hanging the implication that Private was almost raised into a cruel sadistic Unicorn is another matter. Usually if I want to write a story, I just go ahead and write it. So this is a clear care of let's just see, I might do it or not.

It's too early too tell.

Or is it? :rainbowderp:

You probably thought about it because I was thinking the SAME THING, lol! A Private stuck back then would have been a horse of quite a different color from the one we're getting to know in Possession! I say go for it! And, if you want to borrow Nyx for any timey wimeyness you need accomplished, be my guest.

3760102 Oh it's very likely that I will write it. I'm a sucker for Alternate Universes and a sucker for villains and having a villainous Private Iceland around in my cast of pony characters just entices me very much. I'm already in the stage where I'm drafting ideas in my head which will eventually lead to me start typing it up. I just have to figure out where to put it in my pony story queue, already have other stories that are ahead of it. :pinkiehappy:

And thanks for the offer, depending on how I will do it, might get back to you on that. But not for a little while though. :pinkiehappy:
