New story: Social Bathing

Source

It's tagged Mature and Sex, and we all know that that usually means clopfics . . . but this isn't one of those. I would have preferred to use neither tag, but the moderator said that I had to, given the content.

There's really not much else for me to say. The story pretty much stands on its own, and any research which I had to do for it probably cannot be discussed in a blog post, so have another pony picture instead.

Doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but... am I the only one who's wondering how that water even stays in that tub with the big, honking knothole in its side?

Man, I notice the weirdest stuff sometimes.

3693538 A wizard unicorn wizardess did it.

Um, that's an episode screenshot. :unsuresweetie:

Is that story not approved yet? Because I don't see it...

What's it about?

Kinky.

Which universe of yours does this story take place in? Eagerly awaiting this story!

I suppose I should have expected that one.

3693538
Maybe the tub's only full of soapsuds. Or there's a liner inside. I dunno. What 3693541 said: Earth pony magic.

3693542
Yeah, that's what I thought. I got it off reddit, with no source given.

No, it's not approved yet. It failed moderation for not being tagged 'mature,' so it got re-tagged and it's back in the queue.

In a nutshell, social bathing, cultural taboos, and pony vs. human biology.

3693547
You have no idea. There's mention of a YouTube video in the story; I suggest you don't watch it.

3693559
Straight-up Equestria Girls.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I got it off reddit, with no source given.

Google Search-By-Image, from URL. Wonderful function to find the origin of images :raritywink:

...though in this case, even a simple search for the complete filename would've gotten you that right away.

Ahhh. This will be a great read!

3693573 Can't wait to read it

Oddly, that didn't get me any hits the way I did it (right click on the image). Usually works for me. Since I knew it was a screencap from the show, I didn't try anything else. :derpytongue2:

Hopefully it'll be up shortly. Meeester's pretty on the ball.

3693538 I wonder how Scootaloo can even get wet. She has the Pegasus magic that lets her sit on clouds, right? So clearly Pegasus fur/feathers are incredibly hydrophobic. Pegasi should not be able to get wet.

3694166
Technically, that does not follow from each other. No degree of hydrophobic surface treatment could make anything rest on a puff of vapour, never mind push one around, so that's not a requirement to begin with. Clouds are really also not that terribly dense, they just look the part due to distance and their enormous size. A bank of fog is really nothing more than a cloud that has ground contact, so the experience is probably kind of the same - somewhat moist and clammy, but hardly enough to leave any real wetness. Their body temperature is much higher than that of the vapour, so the stuff probably shouldn't even condense on them.

3694255 Water is just incredibly dense cloud. When a Pegasus tries to get in a bath, they should just bounce off the top.

3694520
:rainbowlaugh: That makes both perfect sense and no sense at all at the same time, kudos.

3694520 only if they're trying to fly in it though. Pegasus flight requires a certain amount of active magic to achieve, so if they're not using it, nothing out of the ordinary should happen....

3694681 so what happens when Rainbow Dash is napping on a cloud? I would guess Pegasi have to concentrate to turn their magic off, like holding your breath.

3694684 do have to be conscious to keep yourself from rolling out of bed?
Same concept, it becomes somewhat instinctive.

3694688 Which in turn means you have to be conscious to roll yourself out of bed, or let yourself that wet.

3694721 Y'all realize you move around in your sleep right? :rainbowderp:
Or do you wake up every so often just to shift around (intentionally) and then immediately fall asleep again? :ajsmug:

3694977 Sure, you move a little, but you don't roll out of bed (unless you want to, or have an accident). Just like Pegasi don't fall through clouds when they are sleeping, because their subconscious hydrophobic magic is keeping them up, even when they are asleep. Therefore repelling clouds/water is their default, and they have to concentrate to turn it off/get wet.

Wow, still in the feature box at No. 1! Congrats.

I know Pinkie's Last Nightmare Night got a lot more upvotes, but did it stay in this long?
