School of Hard Knocks art! · 2:50pm Dec 21st, 2015
Season's greetings to one and all!
It's strange weather here in Minnesota. So far, we've had almost no snow (at least in Minneapolis), and certainly none that has stuck around. As much as I enjoy not shoveling, it does make for a depressingly dark grey and brown landscape. A nice, hopefully not too thick layer of snow would brighten things up considerably!
Speaking of dark, here's some School of Hard Knocks art from the incomparable Lightfalls:
This is perfect! While writing the story, that scene loomed large in my mind. This piece really captures the drama and tension I wanted in the scene, and the black-and-white look really adds to the noir feeling I was going for.
I'm not sure, but I think this may be the first School of Hard Knocks art that I've gotten. And it's by Lightfalls, which is an added bonus!
Talk to you all again soon!

That art looks awesome!
I, too, live in Minnesota; and I know exactly how you feel, lol.
It feels like the cold temps are wasted without the snow.
That is amazing!
As a fellow Minnesotan I can agree that this has been a dissapointing amount of snow, even out where I am in the countryside, I mean how will we do a winter wrap up without any snow!
Wow, awesome art!
I remember we had exactly one blizzard a few weeks ago out in the suburbs that melted extremely quickly, not sure it hit Minneapolis though.
I was just in the Twin Cities area the other day (Plymouth specifically), and yeah, there's not that much snow. Not much where I am either.
As a fellow Minnesotan. I do miss the snow (sorta)
A great moment from a great story, although my favorite moment was when Cinnamon thwarted a bad guy by drinking a glass of water.
At least you have seen snow this winter. Lucky you. I live in Sweden and have still not even seen any snowfall since september. Warmest winter EVER!
As far as I'm concerned, you can have all the snow you want. Just keep it up there. I moved to Dallas to escape that stuff.
That picture is awesome, too!
I don't know, I envisioned Swirl looking more like Spoiler than Harley Quin... not to mention Mare Do Well looks more like Spike in the role of humdrum than a mysterious stranger or LARP enthusiast. Plus, where the fly camera is obviously hanging has me more than a little concerned.
Dear Hoopy
Please stop sending your snow to Reno NV. We are a semi aired desert and really don't know what to do with it. It makes the roads all funny to drive on, and not the funny ha ha, but the funny oh oh kind. Please send a self addressed envelop to
"What the heck is this white stuff "
123 every thing is legal here Dr.
Reno NV 89508
So we can mail this snow stuff back to you. Thanks in advance

It was a white Christmas, wasn't it? Now I have to question if attraction to this story is regionally specific. If that's the case, it would explain the sense of deJa vu while reading portions of it. I had initially attributed it to something written triggering anxiety or partially dismissed it because I have a visual media degree and remain an avid comic, short story, and fanfiction reader so certain tropes or tent-poles (and the like) are instinctual.
