Wonderbolts Are Apparently Horrible Ponies · 7:15pm Sep 19th, 2015
Just saw the new episode. No spoilers here, but I will say the more I see of the Wonderbolts, the more I realize the organization is full of ruthless backstabbers. I can see why Lightning Dust fit in. Her only real flaw was being too obvious. I honestly worry about Rainbow if she ever gets in. She's too naive to be devious, and she's extremely gullible.
Rarity was fabulous, that is all I need to say.
Glad someone agrees with me
Remember... when using words such as "fabulous" to describe Rarity, they need to be bold face all caps, and in a fancy font.
Nothing but the very best for Best Pony
Honestly, just because they have a few bad aples like Lightning Dust and Wind Rider, doesn't mean they're completely horrible.
3404076 I think you forgot about what happened at Rainbow Falls with Soarin. That was pretty shady of Spitfire and Fleetfoot.
3404086 I like to think that's the exception, and not the rule in regards to their character.
I thought we figured out the solution to that this episode: RariDash.
And Rarity was perfect this episode. She can be Best Pony understudy for when AJ isn't in the episode.
3404076 You forgot how Spitfire and Fleetfoot tried to keep Soarin out of the competition so they could get Rainbow on their team. Morals seem a little loose in that outfit. They focus on winning.
I'm with you 100%
3404093 I don't know, they both seemed pretty quick to the idea. Not saying they're bad ponies, just more that they tend to focus on winning and don't mind ruffling a few feathers along the way.
They turn on each other at the drop of a hat.
Actually I blame the elder wonderbolt in a large part for the current state of the organization. He obviously ran things at one point and was certainly no good for the current crop. Add that to his culling of the newbies...
Any new information we already didn't have is, in fact, spoilers.
Yeah, the Wonderbolts aren't all they're cracked up to be. Hardly surprising, considering this guy was a "hero".
3404098
-Greatest Wonderbolt of all time (quite possibly former captain) is a framing cheat.
-Current Captain threw her 2nd in command under the bus to win a qualfying time trial she was going to get anyway, and Fleetfoot went along with it.
-Lightning Dust was being groomed as the top 'bolt until a bunch of civilians flew an aircraft into restricted airspace and exposed Lightning Dust as a reckless sociopath.
I think at this point 4 highly prominent apples have spoiled the bunch. When Wind Rider says "sometimes you have to play dirty to win," how many of the other Wonderbolts were silently agreeing with him, even as they were smart enough to verbally throw him under the bus? I get that Rainbow Dash idolizes this group from childhood, but great athletes are not the same thing as great people. If Equestria had steroids you know the Wonderbolts locker-room would be full of them.
3404503 Sorry, but in fairness, the moment you saw the words "Just saw the new episode" you could have assumed something about it would be discussed.
3404096 Well, Rarity, Twilight, Applejack... any of those could keep her from being taken advantage of.
3405406
They tried to write this episode with Applejack, but they didn't think it would be a good lesson for the kids for it to end with her kicking the crap out of another pony for messing with Dash.
3405919 The Twilight draft ended early. She went back in time and watched him commit the crime.
I think this is another episode I skip.
I suffer too highly from second-hand stress. I watch pony to escape to a better place. I don't need a stark reminder of opportunism in my escapism. It's not like peanut butter and chocolate, or peanut butter and jam, or peanut butter and genitalia. It's not two great tastes that taste great together.
3406057 It's Rarity being awesome, you should be fine.
3406057
On the one hand, the bad guy is pretty much made of cynicism.
On the other, Rarity is doing her best film noir detective impression, and that just should not be missed. Especially as it is a very lighthearted impression.
Finally some RariDash content in that episode. Feels like the last time was Sonic Rainboom.
Really love the episodes that "flesh out the characters".
3412023 If you can call sonic rainboom a raridash episode. Prior to this the most we had was Rarity and Dash giggling together. I can't even remember why...
Eh I still enjoy the episodes in spite of that anyway.
But if I may:
When Pinkie found that spell, she did actually say it could work only once. So Twilight wouldn't be able to go back again.
3412947 Actually, you can only return to a certain point in time once. But even assuming the spell was actually limited to one shot at time travel, this is Twilight 'I alter my friends destinies and races for kicks' Sparkle. She'll find a way.
3412962 Ah if it's for a specific point in time, that makes more sense.
What's the crime she did commit?
3421066 She destroyed a major weather facility.
