It's been a long December and there's reason to believe...

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

I'd say more, but let's not tempt fate, she seems to be having a rough year too.

    Have you voted yet?

This isn't an endorsement, I have no facts and figures to offer you, no scandals to mention. I'll just say that this election may well be the most noteworthy in quite some time for the turnout, and early voting is still happening tomorrow. If you mailed yours in, check to make sure it was received. If it wasn't, there is still time to vote in person and cancel the mail in. No matter how you do

Hello again. · 6:17am Jun 12th, 2022

Dear friends, how are you? I have had a rough time recently but things are showing improvement, finally.

So... let's see, where shall I start? My wife, after 2 years, is finally going to get disability. Kinda huge, because her having any income really impacts how we live. She had to get COPD and be put on continuous oxygen, but the judge ruled she really could not do any career in her state. Now we can hopefully get her the various treatments to help her recover some function.

I... seem to have had a stroke back in February. All I know for sure is that my vision started moving on it's own (it's a condition called Nystagmus and it's nauseating) and when it stopped doing that my lazy eye that had been treated decades ago decided it was time to visit and stay for a few weeks. I spent a few weeks patching my eyes one at a time and they finally learned how to play nice with each other again.

When I went to the hospital (because when your eyes won't stop moving you don't just sleep that off) they were a little concerned about my heart racing for no reason, and discovered I had a condition called Atrial Flutter. This apparently means the top part of my heart beats out of rhythm with the bottom part, which can put me into afib and potentially cause blood clots, and you know, maybe strokes. I have found out that fluttering is not something a heart should do. Romance stories lied to me. So... apparently we can treat that by a procedure involving computers and cameras and cryogenic gases or something... it's all very fascinating, but the jist is I can continue living if I have them do this, so I am totally down with this plan. Sounds like a winner.

So... that's a thing. I am also still writing from time to time, and growing more and more interested as life becomes less shit. I know it's been a very long time, and can only beg your understanding. I still love creating, and plan to continue so long as my muse will continue to tell me fun things to write.

If I might plug something I had a hand in creating, "Let's Fighting Love" will have an epilogue, soon. I dearly enjoyed this series, written mostly out of pique that the artist would do Luna so dirty, and more or less demanding he fix it, even if I had to write the story myself to make that happen. The power of nerd rage and friendship made this comic, and I adore it.

More to come as things improve. For now, I bid you adieu.

You sound like weed. And despite the obvious implications, I mean that as a compliment. Reading your blog, these precious traces of (gallows) humor conjured images of a desolate, depressing asphalt desert, and yet there you are, vibrant green and uncaring, making your way through the rubble anyway. It's a nice image. Maybe even inspiring.
It's good to hear that you manage to hold yourself together, despite everything going on. I hope you continue to have the strength for that. And I wish the best of luck for both your wife and yourself. Life isn't fair. (Duh.) But I hope you get some good fortune for a change.

It is good news for your wife giving her a path to recovery. And you should jump on that train too. I wish both of you well.

Heh. I suppose I am a bit. Weeds are hearty things which will grow nearly anywhere, but found in the wrong places people find them annoying.

wow c_c geez

cryogenic gases what

Steel Resolve is back. We all know what this means...

Welcome back, man.

Yeah, apparently they need to zap some nerves that are misfiring, so they use small amounts of gas to do it? But first they have to map out my whole heart while going through an artery in my leg. This is some scifi shit going on.

wow damn c.c I wonder if they could do that for me

5664096
Well, first they'd have to determine your condition, but yeah, this is apparently a common procedure. My specialist had to refer me to this guy, so it's like specialist2, I guess? Maybe specialist3. It's called an ablation.

Glad to hear that things are improving

They are! I am currently rereading up to where I had left off in Folly, because unfortunately, after 2 years... I had forgotten exactly where the characters were mentally... Gotta get back in the headspace.
