It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry. I hope that you're well.
10 months since I last blogged. Shall I catch you up a little?
Wife continues to mend, still hard to breath 16 months later. Even better, she got a major foot infection in June, so they had to cut her open in several spots, which now are getting weekly wound care. Her disability claim got denied a second time, so our lawyer requested a court date, and hopefully that might eventually pan out. She's been unable to work for around 2 years now, and yes, for those of you good at math, she was having trouble before getting Covid which was in turn gotten while we had her hospitalized for a heart attack.
That didn't help.
I'm doing... decently. Because of Covid, my state got a huge fund for rent relief, and I actually got help which lasted up until October 1st, so even without income from my wife, with the rent covered things were quite bearable.
The stimulus check allowed us to get a used car after our old one quit, and while it took a long time to fix, because I got a powertrain warranty, the dealership ended up doing extensive repairs because of damage done by the previous owner. I kid you not, this thing overheated within days of getting it, they had to replace the thermostat, then the head because coolant was leaking into the cylinders, then the transmission solenoid took 2 months just to get in. Finally just for fun, the whole damned engine had to be replaced after my warranty had balked at replacing it at first. I think at this point Ford has put more money into my car than I have. They could have handed me a 2020 model and saved quite a bit.
I... have tried to write, but between all the doctors visits, hours being unstable at work, and just general life stress... it's been slow. I haven't given up, but I... I haven't got anything ready to show quite yet. I am very much interested, however, and while I wasn't sure if I was going to like it.... G5 has made me hopeful that pony will continue in a wonderful way in the future.
I really just wanted to let you all know I am alive, and surviving. I have put in for additional rent relief, and when that gets approved, it will hopefully take us to when her court date is. Unfortunately... it's not approved yet, which is making things very tight for this month. If you've cared enough to read all of this, and have the means, a little help would be more than welcome. Here's a link for donations. I don't need a massive amount, but I'm a bit short to do things like... eat, after I pay everything out.
