(subtract 5 points) I'll count this as half (2 1/2 points) because Piercing's lechery does hinder him in two ways in his love with Trixie -- first, it leads her to avoid him for a year, and secondly he's unfaithful to her causing fights which came close to breaking them up. But ultimately, it only really hinders him with Trixie, and they wind up married for the rest of his life, so he succeeds anyway.

Gee. 3 points, "safe." Piercing Gaze is not sure he likes being called "safe." My Trixie HERSELF, if judged as an OC, would probably be more Mary Sueish than that. Let's apply the test to my version of Trixie Lulamoon.

Okay -- then I hope you like what I did with the test. Looking at the character reactions again, it just struck me that Trixie is Daffy Duck to Twilight's Bugs Bunny, and that in fact she and Daffy have some major points of similarity, the most obvious being an insane drive to excel on the stage in order to get everyone's attention.

Technically speaking, Trixie does have the same mane as a character from the show, being a character from the show and all.
My usual take on Ditzy Doo comes in at six points. Powerful crossover magic didn't help, nor did friendships with four of the Mane Six. Still, her tendency to overcommit kept her out of moderately problematic territory.
In general, I think that the black mane doesn't count. It's "black and red", not "black or red" (but a completely black coated pony would make more than an alarm ring, infact there is a dedicated line).
I'm a little surprised that there isn't a: "( ) Is your OC enemy with one of the mane six? (Add an extra point for every extra character)" line. An OC with a particular hostility toward one or more canon and recognized character (or worse, despised by one or more of them) is "suspect" at least as one with a particular friendship (certainly this would be a little unfair for a canon villain).
The same with: ( ) Are they friends with Chrysalis/Tirek/Etc? (Add an extra point for every canon villain)

I'm going to assume that "non-canon markings" means a cutie mark depicting something that doesn't fit into the canon setting for one reason or another, like an AK-47, a bloody dagger or a graphic sexual act. For that matter, a swastika or a Confederacy flag would count too, as both represent things that has no reason to exist in canon.
And yes, there are OCs with those kinds of "edgy" CMs.

Well, I went through the OC litmus test and determined that my OC, Windfall Birdsong Apple, (ugh just writing that name makes me gag a bit) would score at most 6 points and at the least 1 point. 5 points for being friends with her mother's friends and being a ship baby adds another point. Yes I used Windfall by Warren Hutch as the basis for her name.
Please don't read my fic, as it is very, very bad. Looking back, it is just...awful.
