A kind reader of It's Just Anatomy went out of their way to write a mini essay on a certain aspect of my story. I think you'll all find it an intriguing read.

Cons:
-> Twilight can't stop talking about Rainbow Dash in front of her mother, note Rainbow Dash specifically out of all the others.
-> Rainbow Dash blushes about seeing another girl naked, considering there are showers for genders in school it just makes her skittish behavior of seeing another girl naked suspicious, especially when it's her friend.
-> Rainbow Dash fantasized about Twilight at least once in this story.
-> Twilight is embarrassed that her mother tells Dash about her daughter talking a lot about Dash, without giving any details to the topic or suggesting anything sexual, despite smirking, yet Twilight is embarrassed while blushing, why? She shouldn't be, unless something is going on in her head, and feels, about Dash. Note: She is not embarrassed about nudity since its redundant for her, therefore doesn't even reluctant with physical contact while nude (the couch thing), the feelings for Dash though, not as much in a sense of physical attraction, aside of getting some warmth with close contact, but very much in mind and soul, are still there.
-> Twilight teases dash about sleeping together, also about her figure at dish, if she knew even slightly that Dash isn't that comfortable with nudity, which was the case, she wouldn't throw herself with a smirk so close to Dash's face into the furniture, barely maintaining distance, unless she subconsciously thought/knew she would have a chance with getting a bit more from dash, even if it's 'just' cuddles.
-> Theory of the cuddle extortion is confirmed next morning, both were barely covered last night, both were naked in the morning with Twilight cuddling Dash arms around her, close intimate contact while nude. It's easy to avoid something like this, with putting stuffed animals, or pillows, in the way to split their sides apart and if cuddling happens, it happens with the substitutes, yet Twilight as the egghead she is, didn't even think of that. Why? Because subconscious tells her not to, giving a chance for close contact to happen.
Conclusion:
While Twilight's attempts at building up intimate closeness to her friend are more subtle and also less self aware, Rainbow is openly conflicted with herself and Twilight's situation, even had fantasies about herself and her.
I can understand Dash being embarrassed by Shining, I can't however believe her reluctance to look at Twilight without blushing. They go to the same school, they may have had sports together, the may have had seen each other, or at least other girls, naked in the showers.
Why is she so reluctant to see another girl naked? Especially Twilight as her 'close' friend. Because she is embarrassed for the feelings she might harbor for her seeing her naked, and them being revealed by her own reaction, which was very conflicting and contradictory at several times, in the bathroom or after waking up with Twilight naked, accusing HER of trying something with the nakedness and the cuddles.
On the other hand, Dash probably did mind less about the nude cuddles, then she was appearing to show, ending up conflicted about Twilight and her feelings towards her "so close friend".
Ergo, I can not deny the fuel, 'hidden' in these paragraphs for excellent shipping conditions.
I am sorry to say, this ship is already on its way, the anchor has been hauled in, the sails have cached wind, and the vessel departs the harbor... now it's only a matter of time before it reaches it's destination...
or gets sunk by sea monsters and natural catastrophes...

What do you all think of this informative study? I think it's a collection of interesting observations. I mean, it's not like I secretly want to ship them or anything... right?

Yeah... that's rather what I thought as well.
It's certainly an interesting read. I'm not exactly sure I agree with it all. But I did bring up the showering thing in an earlier communication, and asked how Rainbow Dash's shyness coexisted with the need to shower after gym class. That's about the only part that leaves me in conflict.
I don't think the school shower analogy really works. Maybe their school has shower stalls? Maybe Twilight doesn't take sports? Maybe RD doesn't shower
Well probably not that one. She's a tomboy but not that much.
I'm from Finland and over here it's really common to share a sauna between genders and ages. I used to go there along with my cousins, one of them my age yet opposite gender, well into my teens. We never thought anything of it. I still would have felt hanging out with her in the nude anywhere else very disturbing. It's a matter of context.
I definitely felt sexual tension while reading the fic. I'm guessing that's mostly from my own dirty brain and wanting to read it that way. I did get a huge giggle from the "best of friends" thing when a very similar situation was shown between Lyra and Bon Bon in ep 100. Also knowing that the author finds mare x mare / girl x girl an enticing prospect doesn't really mitigate said preconception on my part.
I most definitely wouldn't mind another attempt at a sequel, this time going into a completely other direction, but I'm a dirty old man, so take that as you will.

3197683 The sauna scenario is, most certainly, a Finnish cultural thing that did not carry over to the U.S. at any point. If I was nude with a girl, I would be embarassed regardless of the situation, her relation to me, or whether she was wearing clothes. I don't have a quality reference to how girls' locker rooms operate, but the stereotypical movie scenario in which they all just shower in the open and occasionally get frisky/have a fight that seems designed to make them look sexy does not happen normally, and I know that for a fact. Given the American accents in EQG and the fact that it was developed in the U.S, I think it's safe to assume it takes place here (or there, for you-Hello from the U.S.A!) and therefore is going to have culture representative of here-and here, nudity is a thing to be avoided pretty much all the time.

That sounds like an... interesting experience. Cultural beliefs would completely prevent that from happening, though. And if it did somehow happen, I would be far more interested in staring intently at those denizens who are not of my gender than I would be in the conversation (wanna make it clear that I would restrict that to the cute girls in my class, rather than, say, my sister). That's probably due to culture as well-I am in fact "well into my teens" just as you were, and I couldn't even imagine such happening in any place beyond sexual fantasies.
