    See Ya!

It's been a while since I posted a story! Heck, it's been almost a year and a half! Boy did time fly by. I wasn't active last year, not even through blogging, so consider this my update... and goodbye. Sorry to say, but I think it's high time I take my leave. It's been an up and down two and a half years on this site, but I don't think I'll regret it in the end.

    So here's the haps!

I am Emperor Ronald Reagan
Born again with fascist cravings
Still, you made me president

Human rights will soon go 'way
I am now your Shah today
Now I command all of you
Now you're going to pray in school
I'll make sure they're Christian too

California Uber alles
Uber alles California

Ku Klux Klan will control you
Still you think it's natural
Nigger knockin' for the master race
Still you wear the happy face

You closed your eyes, can't happen here
Alexander Haig is near
Vietnam won't come back you say
Join the army or you will pay

Yeah, that's it. Just relax.
Have another drink, few more pretzels, little more MSG.
Turn on those Dallas Cowboys on your TV.
Lock your doors. Close your mind.
It's time for the two-minute warning.

Welcome to 1984
Are you ready for the third world war?!?
You too will meet the secret police
They'll draft you and they'll jail your niece

You'll go quitely to boot camp
They'll shoot you dead, make you a man
Don't you worry, it's for a cause
Feeding global corporations' claws

Die on our brand new poison gas
El Salvador or Afghanistan
Making money for President Reagan
And all the friends of President Reagan

I would've posted this regardless of who won, but it fits the current winner more. Funny how a song from thirty years ago can still be so topical. Dead Kennedys, last voice of reason in the world. :rainbowwild:

Truly there is no good in this world when a cretin like Drumpf is elected as POTUS.

4292906 I think it's time to rename the USA to USSA. :trollestia:

4292906
As if Clinton could've been a better choice.

That is so fucking true.

4293120 Johnson would have been better. We would have gotten someone with experience in politics, and it wouldn't have been hilary.

4293331
4293120 I'm going to ask you guys to not start an argument. Election's already over; bickering about it isn't going to do any good.

4293349 I wasn't arguing, I was just pointing something out.

4293367 On a side note, how's your day going?

4293385 Eh, just alright. You?

4293413 Good for the most part.

4293349
Not arguing, just commenting on how neither final candidate for the position really seems qualified for the duties and responsibilities they're going to find themselves saddled with for the next four years. We were guaranteed boned no matter who won. It's just going to be a matter of what flavor of boning it comes down to. Personally I'm tired of the boning of seasoned politicians who've been at it longer than I've been alive, let's see what fresh blood tastes like.

4293120 Compared to a jackass who bankrupted a casino? Yes. Hell, a friend of mine is actually planning to move to Canada, because Drumpf claims he's going to roll back the progressive policies Obama put in place for the betterment of LGBT people lives.

4293650
If the policies were any good, they would've been enacted into law, through the proper channels, through congress, when the democrats more or less owned the house and senate. They did it for the ACA, then they just sort of did nothing after that, despite having so many great ideas on how to make the country better. The one and doned it.

Does the LGBT community need enhancements in terms of quality? If they do, then make the case in a manner that can actually be addressed and discussed, not "You're gonna treat these people right because I'm telling you to or else" that just breeds spite and further resentment.

Does the LGBT community need enhancements in terms of quality?

Yes, yes we do. Take a few minutes to look up discrimination rates and cases of it. And I don't just mean "I don't want to bake a cake for them." I'm talking about discrimination in buying homes, getting jobs, steady wages, access to doctors, and opportunities in general. Pretty important things to have. At least one survey asking trans people found that half of all participants had faced these things among others. That's just to name a few.

4293705

Please take like fifteen minutes to do your homework on Google before you spout off like this.

Wow.

4293850
It's a question I knew the answer was "yes" to. I was merely pointing out that proper channels should be followed, because such channels carry the effectiveness and weight of law. Executive orders are nothing but a bypass of the proper channels, and can easily be undone by the next president, making them less than useful. This is obviously an important matter, and shouldn't be subject to one person dictating what should and shouldn't be in play, in a manner that can't be reviewed and discussed.

4293892 4293943
What I'm saying is, during the first two years of Obama's presidency, the democrats owned the house and senate. They had the supermajority, republicans couldn't oppose or filibuster them, they could enact whatever legislation they wanted without issue. They did that with the affordable care act, but they didn't do it with anything else. They didn't use that time to enact new legislation that would establish guidelines for the proper treatment of the LGBT community, they didn't address gender dysphoria, they didn't do any of that. Instead the attempts at address came long after they lost the house and senate, and in the form of executive orders. What was the point of wasting that two year opportunity, and instead waiting for so long before addressing more important issues than whether or not American citizens had health insurance? Why didn't they use that time wisely, to attack discrimination based on gender identity and preference?

I'm not saying the LGBT community doesn't need anything, because I know that's not true. I've seen what goes on, what they have to deal with and face. What I'm saying is that the party who claims to be the champion of the oppressed, did absolutely nothing when they had the opportunity. They just sat on their hands, didn't discuss anything, didn't propose anything, didn't draft any legislation that would address the issue. It was like they didn't even care. They rile the people up, get them angry, afraid and desperate get their votes to prolong their careers, and then do nothing for them in return. It's exploitation of those in need, and it's very sickening.

So if I've offended anyone, by being so consumed with all this unyielding rage over politics as usual, that I can't properly articulate my dislike for all politicians and their scare tactics approach to having a job, then I apologize for Hulking out on the matter.

a) Trans rights aren't popular among democratic politicians yet. Please do your homework.

b) The topic wasn't about what happened during Obama's terms or what political party anyone favors. Trying to make it about that so you can win imaginary points is dishonest and beside the point.

c) LGBT people are upset not because of losing anything Clinton promised to move forward, but because Trump has promised to roll back LGBT rights. Trans rights are in particular jeopardy because what few exist on the federal level mostly come from executive orders, which today Pence confirmed are going to be repealed when Trump actually takes office. Transgender Americans will essentially be non-citizens (again). Please do your homework.

4294542
Whoa, wait a minute, hold up!

I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong, and I do, but what do you mean about being non-citizens? How does that even work in this case?

Granted my interpretation of what "non-citizen" entails might be different from others, but I'm not seeing the connection between the two.
