I don't understand. It really just doesn't make ANY sense.
3 years ago, I got the stupid idea to write a story in which Rainbow Dash was Celestia's daughter. At the time I was working on what was my very first fic series, my Kingdom hearts crossover. I was working really hard to get people to notice the Kingdom hearts story and its sequels, but everyone wanted to read my crazy rainbow/celestia story. Heck, it even got featured. It was my very first featured story and it meant the world to me.
But then everyone decided that I didn't deserve it. You know how writers post that big "THANK YOU FOR THE FEATURE" thing on their story when it gets featured and people congratulate them? Well, I did that and people got mad at me for it. Eventually people who had loved the story started to absolutely hate it and everything about it.
I received hate-mail not only on fimfic, but on youtube, deviantart, and even to my email address. Threats, accusations, all kinds of crap flew at me. And then I got hit by a car! No joke. My life was slowly turning into a pile of shit and people were only piling onto it. For some stupid reason I decided to try and keep writing the story and that only ended in people acting like they did when "Bully" came out. Going into things for about ten minutes and judging the entire thing by those ten minutes and not even bothering to read to the end where its obvious what they originally thought is not what actually happened.
So, after a long back and forth of "You SUCK' and "I'm sorry, im trying not to be homeless" I decided to cancel the story and its just been sitting there mocking me for attempting to make something worth putting on the site. I'm surprised everyone hasn't tried to kill me over Discovering Friendship yet. But maybe thats because It hasn't been featured, I dunno.
What I don't understand is...after all of that crap I went through over this story, people are still adding it to their favorites and tracking lists. Whatdafuq guys? Its a canceled story, a dead story, its never coming back, and according to everyone it didn't deserve to be featured or even be posted and I should have my hands broken for even writing it.
So why are you guys still reading it? For laughs? I'm just so confused on why something everyone hates and something that finally ended on my birthday last year is getting favorites when I haven't touched it since it ended.

Wow... I really feel bad for you. I haven't seen any of this stuff happening, and I didn't really bother to look around your page and such. Let me just say that you truly have my sympathy.
To put it very succinctly: the people that did that, and continue to do that, are witless, short-sighted idiots.
There's no other reason for what they did and continue to do, but that.
And they should be damned ashamed of themselves for it.
As for myself, I've never read that particular story of yours (I absolutely
Discovering Friendship, though), but I may do so soon to see what they were all being so butt-hurt over about it.

I doubt the people who gave you crap are the same people who are faving and/or tracking. Still a bit odd to do, since it has the cancelled tag, but there are various reason why people might still track or fave it. Easy way to find it (organization), not noticing the tag, misplaced hope amongst others.
I have been working with a young person in Finland, who has been going through the same garbage, I have no explanation for the behavior beyond superiority complex, people treat those who are successful badly, do so as they are not that good at anything themselves so they become jealous, personally, I am not that good at anything, except perhaps poetry and friendship, these are the two things I do best, really, I wish to offer my hoof in friendship to you.
No one deserves to be treated badly as your were. I am no writer. I am but simply an unimportant reader by my own accounts. I have read 1 maybe 2 stories where at least 1 of the Mane 6 r the offspring of Princess Celestia or Princess Luna. I have not read the story in question just yet but to say the idea intrigues even me is an understatement. So for what it's worth: The fact that you tried such a story is what caught eye. ;)

Hmm, this story has been in my read later list. Guess I'll give it a read sooner than later. Lots of other people have given helpful advice so all I'll add is that I hope your writing doesn't become so heavily affected by unnecessarily negative and unhelpful comments.
Basically, some people are jealous assholes.
The people that are faving and liking your story genuinely like it, the people that gave you shit probably never read the fic in the first place, they most likely just got butt hurt over the fact that you were featured and they've never been.
I have no idea why, but I'll tell you this.
I love your story, and I always reread it every so often. Don't let the haters get down on you. They're just jealous arse-holes, who've decided to throw a bitch fit just because they've never gotten a story featured, just like Rainbow87Dash said. I wish you luck on your future stories!

Either way, for what it's worth. I really did like that story and I was a tad disappointed when it(the fic) was stopped. It was very written.
I would love a continued story but, I'm fine with Discovering Friendship for the awesomeness. But, I really want a Dash as Celly's daughter fic. I like those for some reason.
Still can't understand how people could send hate-mail over a fanfic, let alone one in this fandom. If it's half as good as Discovering Friendship, I could see myself getting emotionally invested in it, but hate-mail when it doesn't go your way? I just don't understand people.
I will probably be reading it soon, and after I get through the first chapter, I'll likely add it to my favorites. I use the list as a... well, a favorites list. Helps me keep track of all the good stories I have read. I put completed ones in there, so putting a cancelled one in makes sense too, if it's good.
