I'm not usually one to contemplate fandom eschatology, but over the last few fimfic archive updates I've been noticing that the average words added each day to FiMfiction has been slowly decreasing. I thought I was witnessing the fandom lose steam as the number of words of fanfic it produced slows down.
But then this last fimfic archive update hit and I couldn't have been more wrong.
We're now back to over a million words each day added to FiMfiction! Actually it's more astounding that even in the midst of a year long hiatus 800k words were being added. That's still four times the amount any normal person is even capable of reading in a day! And now that the hiatus is over, even more people are churning out more stories.
If anything, this proves just how long lasting the Brony fandom will endure. We're going on five years since the show started and we're not slowing down.
So basically we're stuck here with no way to escape.
But why would you want to? 
Well anyway, without further ado, I present the latest spreadsheets to go along with the June 1, 2015 release of the fimfic archive.
If you wanna compare an author's word count and other useful stuff, press control-F for that user in the Authors Spreadsheet. Keep in mind that this is every author on the site, so this is a huge spreadsheet.
Want to check out how stories compare to each other? Hit up the Story Info Spreadsheet. (This is also a ginormous spreadsheet, go ahead and download it to play around in Excel, that should be faster.)
The character info spreadsheet is almost defunct now that Knighty has put so much thought and care into the new searching system. But it's updated nonetheless. Check out the character ranking spreadsheet on the third tab on the bottom.
Fanfic authors are pretty consistent about who they write about, with the top eleven characters staying consistent in terms of popularity. However, Discord overtook Applejack in the last year. And it's amusing to see that Sunset Shimmer has doubled her percentage share of stories on the site versus last year.
And of course, the general FiMfiction spreadsheet was also updated.
Congrats on 1.3 Billion words everybody! At our current rate, we should reach two billion words two years from now.

And I'd love it if you read those stories when you have spare time, but don't beat yourself up about it.
Now that is what I call some good news. I wonder if we'll see numbers this encouraging for the rest of the show's lifespan and into the years to come. Seeing numbers this encouraging made my whole day. ^^
That's great! I thought the numbers were dwindling since I was only looking at the number of new and updated stories. It's very nice to see that the number of words per day is going up again!
