Welp, my story I was hyping may not be coming · 2:56pm Apr 1st, 2015
So, two of the blogs I made recently were attempts to allude to the fact that on today, the day of Fools, I was to publish a sequel to Twilight Slowly Reads a Book that followed the Dick and Jane series. You know, "See Spot run."?
It got rejected for not having a proper story format and for not being MLP related enough. This is despite being in the style of children's books, something we should embrace and encourage on a site for a children's cartoon, and the fact that at least a quarter of the words are dedicated not only to pony names, but also names of Ponyville and its structures. Add on top of that horse anatomy being mentioned from time to time, and color me a bit confused.
If you have any advice as to what I should tell the moderator to hopefully get him to listen, that would be much appreciated. Until then, I guess I'm jokeless today, and instead about to pop a blood vessel with how livid I am because I spent two hours setting that story up. Not writing it, just setting it up.
Did you use words like trotting and hooves?
2931301 Yes.
2931304 Was it Meester?
So all those rubbish stories and obvious troll fics which we've seen but cannot name from memory (as we've delightfully forgotten them) get passed but "See Spot Run" for Twilight's benefit fails moderation?
Guess it really is April Fools Day!!
Hope your story passes moderation, as it seems it should.
2931310 Nope, though he approved the first one.
2931314 It failed once and I don't know how to argue to get it back in, so I'm not sure if it can.
Well, I can't really give much advice. I mean, I got reported for supposedly spamming people at random by PMing them and asking for money when all I was doing was posting a blog that was telling people about the charity my friends and I are doing.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel that you should look over the story and see if there's something that could trigger this to happen.
2931315 Guess the mods have a sense of humor
It looks like the story (dis)approvers are cracking down, lately. And by that, I mean going nuts. Standards seem especially arbitrary, these days, and highly dependent on who looks the story over. I recently got a story rejected, and everyone I showed it to agreed it was insane to claim it wasn't FIM enough. Then there was that guy a few months back who got rejected for having colored text. The standards are out of control.
Was it Cheshire?
2931790 Yes.
One of my stories got rejected for "insufficient short description" (said description was, if I recall correctly, "Flash Sentry hears voices"). A quick look at the front page shows that "Sonata struggles with recent events", "Gotcha! Your chapter is in another story mate!", "Trixie exploring the cold north i hopes of a new start", and " The Cutie Mark Crusaders hide in a shack" are sufficient descriptions... Some mods are off their meds...
Never do stuff on the internet when it's 1st April, duh. It takes quite the talent to get rejected for ML-unrelatedness. Give it a few days, rename if necessary, and resubmit.
