It's Just Anatomy hit one thousand up votes today, making it my first story to do so. I don't usually make a deal out of mile stones, but I thought I'd make an exception since I'm feeling good about it. Similar to what I did with my Post-Equinophobia blog, I'll just provide general comments and author's notes about the story. Oh, and maybe something about a sequel.
Before I get into the story, let me just answer a question multiple readers were wondering about. No, I am not a nudist, nor have I tried nudism. I quite honestly don't know where I got all of my information about the lifestyle from other than working off of what I figured made sense. I did have some kind of obsession with nudism for a month during my hormone-crazed teen years, but those times are far behind me.
If there's one thing that's become clear to me as a writer, it's that your best ideas always come after ten pm, and this is no exception. I actually do remember exactly how I got inspired to write this story. I was reading The Rarest of Them All when I came across one certain chapter where Rarity's parents are revealed to be nudists, much to her's and everyone else's em-bare-ass-ment. Well, my tired mind new exactly where to go from there. Twilight was now a nudist. I laughed a lot that night.
I debated a lot about who the protagonist was going to be. It came down to Rainbow and Rarity, the latter because her upbringing and mannerisms would clash with nudism a lot. But I settled on Rainbow because it's easier to squeeze jokes out of her personality, and everyone loves Twilight/Rainbow stories.
A lot of people have applauded me for my exploration into nudism, but there's a funny story to that. When I wrote the first chapter, I was only shooting for a comedy rather than the slice if life we have here. It was only during the second chapter did I start actively showcasing the lifestyle. It wasn't on purpose; it just happened as a lot of things in my stories do. I don't plan very far I as advance when writing. I just get an end goal in sight and write what it takes to get there. In this case, the goal was to have Rainbow naked by the end of the story. Of course, I could've just had her be cool with it instead of being overly modest, but I added in modesty since it seemed to be the right thing to do, and the exploration kicked off from there.
Another thing people mentioned is how awkward and cringey the scenes are in this. To be honest, I couldn't see that when I was writing, but that's probably because I'm the author and not the reader. Nonetheless, I'm happy knowing I put you all through that.
Before I forget, here's a funny thing. I mentioned Spike in the first chapter, but he only shows up for a brief scene in the last chapter before disappearing again. Why? Because I completely forgot to write him into the story earlier. Ah well, no one cares about him anyway.
I'll be honest, one of my motivations behind this fic is because of the absurd amount of clopfics (or just explicit ones, really) that clog the front page. I don't have anything against the genre, but it gets old quick when I see a mediocre sex fic racking up fame when quality stories get pushed out. It's just Anatomy was a response saying that not every story needs some random sex scenes to be entertaining. I believe I did a decent job of showing that.
And finally, the subject of romance. It has become clear to me that many people have refused to remove their shipping goggles. I think they've been reading a bit too much romance. Anyway, I did indeed have a no-romance rule in this story. One reason is because one of the points if the story is that nudity doesn't have to be sexual, and romantic tension would undermine this point considering Rainbow's initial views on nudity. The other reason is simply because romance doesn't need to be thrown in for the sake of it, despite what the army of angry TwiDash shippers at my doorstep would have you believe. ...I may have teased here and there though... Not that it means anything... Eeyup.
So how's about a sequel? I do not have a date for when it'll come, but I do know what it'll be about. I won't say too much as to not spoil the surprise, but there will be at least two of our beloved characters starring in it. I haven't decided which for sure, but I've got an idea. However, I will say that there are some characters I won't be doing, those being the Crusaders (even if it's desexualized, child nudity still feels iffy), the Dazzlings (not interested in them at all), and Sunset Shimmer. The last one is because there's already a surprising amount of stories where she's naked. I kind of want to write her, though, just so I can title it "The Sunset Strip." (Don't you dare steal that title.)
Anyway, yes, there will be a sequel, but I don't know when it will come out, nor am I sure as to who will be in it. I'm not going to say what's it's about, but I'll just let you know that things are going to get... public.

Hrmm....maybe if you did all of the main six. Like...each with their own stories (ie Rarity, Pinkie, Applejack, Flutters). Then you could do one with Sunset....

Honestly though, why has no one done something like this? Yes, 90% of the people who end up in Equestria probably wouldn't be all that comfortable just shedding their clothes, but we forget that there are, indeed, people who are plenty comfortable in their own skin.
Assuming that Equestria is warm enough for it to be comfortable all day and night, there wouldn't be much reason for a human(s) to wear clothes if ponies aren't offended by their nudity.
I guarantee you, if it was 100% acceptable I'd be walking around ass-naked.
Humans are the naked ape, after all.

Honestly, that was my only issue with the story. It seems like romance would have been natural at few spots but it was forced into not happening. Like you contorted it so it would not happen.
When you take it that close and then pull back, well, of course people are going to be like wtf when you say nope, just friends lol.
It was a great story though.

Glad to hear a sequel will eventually come. I rather like the fact that this was just a simple slice of life story. It seems like you can't have a good one without throwing comedy or romance or just sexy fun into it these days. Nice to have some changeups. Well with season 5 one the way, I'm sure we shall see some good stuff on the way soon. Thanks for the awesome story and looking forward to more.

I do agree that Clop as become something of a fashion statement to see on the front page feature box and I do congratulate you for making a fic like this that did not contain it.
You really did do an amazing job on this story btw.
One of the things I've learned when writing is letting a story evolve naturally, in my stories they've actually surprised me with what happens when I've let the character lead the story and not the other way around. I've actually added two characters that I never meant to be in the story and killed off one that I had no intention of dieing by simply letting the story tell itself, by not forcing the characters into the situation I wanted them to be in. That's what I kept seeing in this one, It felt natural at more than one situation where they would try to take it to the next level. Yet the story kept forcing the characters away from it.
I know, I'm biased, but this is the legit view I had, not simply me wanting it to happen (Which I did but...).

Maybe it's just because I'm the author, but I don't really see the romance blooming. Sure it can be taken that way, but I still see it as two best friends teasing each other. Nonetheless, glad you liked the story.
As a card-carrying nudist -- and I'm telling you, it's hard to find a good place to carry that damn card -- I'd say you did an exemplary job of conveying both Twilight's nonchalance and Dash's panic.

Honestly I think the biggest wink wink nudge nudge was when Shining joked about it.
I did want to ask, Rainbow seemed really uptight about being nude in front of others, you know despite being the captain of every team (and you know, having to use the locker room alot). Was it the difference between professional/unprofessional settings? Just an FMI question. (for my information) lol.

I imagined that Rainbow is alright in locker rooms because she's not totally nude. Like how girls go to the beach in bikinis and they're fine with that. She might just be a bit anxious at most.

That's what I'd do, no bigger than one of the chapters. Just a short one-shot for those who wanted a little more. Those who were happy as is could just skip it.
I would dare say about 80-90% of the comments at the end are something like "Nope, the shipping goggles stay on."
There's obviously a demand for it, the only question is if people are willing to supply it.
