State of the Writer, June 2014 · 6:33pm Jun 30th, 2014
Man, how is it the end of June already? How is 2014 half fucking over? ;_; At least a lot of stuff happened this month. I really hate how the first half of the year always flies by, January and February especially.
Also, I have cake. :3
So, hello to the bunch of new followers I got. :O That hasn't happened for a while! Whether you're here because of the site post or because you liked Faun, welcome. I do story reviews every few days and one of these every month, so hopefully you'll enjoy them. :) Speaking of...
So if you liked Faun and it was because it was dark and stuff, might I suggest checking out Fluttershy Goes to Hell, which is considerably darker. If you liked it because of "the feels", as many have said in the comments, you'd more likely enjoy Whisk or Dinky's First Kill, though both are considerably lighter. I'm rather pleased with the response that story has gotten, though good lord I wish there were fewer entries to be read for the contest. x.X I'm working on them. It's gonna take a while.
Speaking of which, I once took a time management course. I wish I could remember literally anything I learned in it, because I could really use some of that right now. D: I've just got too many things going on that I have to do, and that I'd like to do, and I'm not really prioritizing well, and the contest entries aren't helping. (I'm always of the mindset that if you let things which you can do easily pile up, you'll just make it harder on yourself later. I don't prioritize well, like I said.) I'm drowning in my own do. D:
Last night, I dreamt I was trapped in a bad fanfic. It was written by someone who was notorious on the site for being a terrible author obsessed with the same things. His name was alex_rodriguez and some numbers, I think. Hopefully that's not a real person. :B But I was in a high school and everypony had been taken and they were standing outside being brainwashed by red lights coming from a UFO (this was one of the things that always showed up in this author's stories). And the whole time I was freaking out and simultaneously going, "But this is so stupid, I should not be scared!"
Okay, so I should actually talk about writing. Epic Unicorn History Chapter 4 I did actually start this month, but I haven't touched it since because of contests. But it's really a thing, so no worries there. Lagan and A Blackout in Ponyville were my two entries for the writeoff this month, taking 9th and 12th place, respectively, and I've actually got designs on expanding both before I post, so there's a possibility they could have individual posts. One thing I did this month was finish the first draft of The Clock Is Ticking, which I am awaiting feedback on, hint hint feedback person I'm sorry I keep bugging you but you kind of bugged me about this for two years. I'm rather proud of having done that finally. And I got a bug in my ear the other day that I really would like to write, but I don't think I will, since there's a week until the next Pre-Reader Battle and I'll want to do that. :B I'm actually organizing it this time, and boy was my timing awful! :D
Okay, I think that's about enough for today. :B I downloaded Age of Extinction and I want to do nothing but watch it, but first I have to do homework and it's gonna be shit because I kind of lost this entire weekend. :( Pray for me.
Spoilers: I only ever use that phrase sarcastically. Do not actually pray for my homework.
*prays for the sexy site blogger by name of presentperfect*
I'm really looking forward to the day you accidentally publish one of these blogs as a site post.
Ah, so you've cursed yourself with the duty of reviewing all 66 of the entries for Obs' contest? I pray for you.
*passive aggressively prays for you*
Regarding Age of Extinction, oh my god was it too long. That is all.
*puts an eyepatch on Present's face*

I'm serious, it's not an easy thing to do accidentally. :B I got this.

I looked at the file info and I was all HOW IN THE FUCK IS IT TWO AND A HALF HOURS LONG

No one noticed that I apparently grew a second personality while writing this blog.
AND NOW THEY NEVER WILL

I hope you at least have fun with the contest entries. Though you are almost making me feel guilty about having submitted a 12K+ words fic
(Though not guilty enough to prevent me from submitting another 15K+ words fic for the Body swap contest; I spent the whole month working on this thing, I'm not going to just not post it now )

I'm probably not going to read the body swap entries. :/ Gotta prioritize contests I'm actually in, after all.
