“Now, my dear Cadance, I have you right where I want you.” Chrysalis said, chuckling evil.
She then began speaking in Cadance’s voice as she moved the doll representing the princess of Love in a way to mimic speech. “No, you shall never have me!” she said defiantly.
Switching back to her own voice, Chrysalis chuckled darkly. “Oh really, and who is going to stop me?” she asked as the moved the figurine representing herself closer to the Cadance one.
“I shall!” Chrysalis said in a deeper voice reminiscent of Shining Armor as she brought the appropriate action figure over.
“Shining Armor!” Chrysalis cried.
“Captain Shining Armor.” the doll corrected.
“Shiny!” Cadance squealed.
“I’m here too!” a Twilight doll said, an octave or two too high.
“As am I.” Celestia’s regal tones came from Chrysalis’s vocal cords.
“I’m here to rescue my wife!” Shining said.
“Nope.” Chrysalis said as she smacked her doll into Shining’s, knock it over. “Ha!”
“BBBFF, NO!!!” Twilight cried dramatically, obviously trying for the Oscar. “What have you done?” she demanded.
“This.” Chrysalis said simply as she repeated the action with Twilight’s doll, knocking it over as well.
“I shall not stand for this.” Celestia said.
“Then don’t.” Chrysalis said before knocking her on her side as well. Chrysalis then turned her doll to face Cadance’s. “Now, dear princess, we are finally alone.” she grinned suggestively. “And now you shall give into your feelings for me.”
“Stay back you mad fiend!” Cadance cried as Chrysalis’s doll slowly advanced. “I hate you, I hate you!”
“Do not fool yourself, princess. You love me. Search your feelings, you know it must be true.”
“No! No. No…?” Chrysalis’s doll became quite close to Cadance’s.
“Yes.” the changeling queen purred. “There it is.”
“Oh Chrysalis, this explains so much. I… I love you.”
“And I love you.” Chrysalis whispered. “Now, we shall f-”
The door to Chrysalis’s chambers suddenly opened.
“My Queen, I have some important news from-” Truth began saying.
Chrysalis scrambled to gather up her dolls and hide them from sight within her arms. “KNOCK ON MY DOOR! KNOCK NEXT TIME!” she shouted.
“Yes my Queen!” Truth yelped, snapping to a salute.
“Did you see anything?” Chrysalis demanded, not daring to turn around.
“No, my Queen!” Truth cried. “I didn’t see you playing with your dolls again!”
“Good!”

What's so confusing about it? Cadence is in love with Twilight but she can't be with her because she's not really in love with Twilight and is actually in love with Shining even though she still loves Twilight. Simple.
