Writing and me haven't been on the best terms ever since I finished What You Mean To Me. Been trying hard and digging deep looking for inspiration and motivation, but it's been a difficult challenge to find an idea I can truly latch on to and believe.
Most of the ideas I've been entertaining are original ones that have nothing to do with MLP.

Anyways, I honestly don't think the story should get a sequel. I think it should be left the way it is for pretty much the same reasons you were talking about.
As for the story ideas, the adventure one sounds the most interesting to me. Though i'm curious how it will have slice of life elements since those two genres are literally exact opposites.
MORE "Avert Your Eyes"! Please. I beg you.
What I vote for in order of what I want:
1. You giving up writing forever and focusing on your videos. Simply because I think your videos are a lot better than your writing, although your writing is still great. Partial bias due to your videos getting me from just watching the series to joining the fandom.
2. The dark into-the-forest fic. Although why you couldn't make it mlp I don't get. Just make a couple characters completely canon unrelated ponies, like you said you already wanted to, make it the everfree forest or even some other forest and you can get it on this site.
3. The rainbow dash side story.

Now, that original fic has caught my eye... I like how it sounds like it would start out as the modern fairy tale style, then evolve into the original Brothers Grimm setting.
With this one, if you DID decide to do it pony, I think Derpy would be the best choice as the single mom... or alter it, and have t be either AJ or Marshmallow and her little sister.
The episodic, ongoing series about Lyra and Bonbon sounds the most interesting to me. I think it's good to experiment as a writer, trying out new things and seeing what sorts of different stories one can write. Plus, it just sounds like a cool concept.
Additionally, I think it would be quite interesting to see what happened with Rainbow after she left the hospital, so that one sounds good too.
Thirdly, the original story intrigues me. I like the sound of it. The whole mythical creatures angle doesn't really interest me, which probably sounds pretty hypocritical coming from a guy who hangs out on a site like this. What does interest me is the progression and the themes that would be at work. It sounds like a really thoughtful and great piece, and I'd like to see it come together.
You know... I genuinely am interested in all of those ideas but "The Incredibly Boring Life of Lyra and Bon Bon" intrigues me the most. I believe they all have a large amount of potential to be very good. Now all that's left is that we play the waiting game...
I'm not such a fan of romances, but I'd love to see your work, Tom. I'll keep the watch in case you decide to write something different.
I see you're not the only one who had original ideas which bore striking resemblance to MLP before joining the fandom.
"Lyra and Bon Bon's Boring Life" sounds interesting since I kind of also like Regular Show. I'd also like to see "Recovery" adapted as a story. I've never read the comic. No offense, but I've never cared for your visual style. It's just so starkly different from the show. Anyway, I've never been into male-on-male stories but this "Notworthy" story sounds... almost interesting. But good luck with whichever project you wish to undertake next. Keep up the good work.

I was wondering in the Regular Show most episode would usually feature their friends, well in this series about Lyra and Bon Bon would some chapters maybe include the little fandom characters like Derpy, Octavia, Vinyl and possibly Snowflake (Bulk)?
A scootaloo side story would be lovely
But the Not Worthy and original stories sounds even more awesome
I love the Rainbow dash side-story. It might make me hate her less when watching the show.

WYMTM was an incredible read and I would gladly read any side-story associated with it. It would be interesting to read about what happened behind the scenes. The boring LyraBon series sounds like it would be a lot of fun, so I'm down with that. Personally, I would REALLY love if you finished Avert your eyes, as I love Derpy
. As far as the OC adventuring dark story, if it's written even half as good as WYMTM, then it's well worth my time. Ah hell, though it's not part of my usual fare, I'd even give Not Worthy a try.
