Wanderer D does Experimental Storytelling and Fluttershy has to live with it. · 1:59am Jan 18th, 2014
So, about that story. Which, despite the title, is NOT clop.
How did you guys like it? I think its primary purpose of giving a "WAT" reaction was a success! Yay!
So, if you're wondering what the hell I was doing, here's the spiel: Not too long ago we derailed a conversation about the equivalent value of the artistic written word and other artistic expressions in relation to ease and money... and ended up talking about whether a picture was worth 1000 words or not.
The conclusion was that I was right and everyone else was wrong despite their logic, of course. Or not. In any case, while the veredict was, in reality, that it wasn't a fair comparison anyway because they were different mediums, it did get my brain to work and it wouldn't leave me alone, the dirty bastard.
So, I gave in and fed it what it wanted... yesss...
A-anyway...
So, I set out to write something whimsical that would abuse make use of both mediums of communication to tell a story. Neither of them, by themselves, text or image, would have ever achieved the same result by themselves. Chapter 2 alone, is a really good example of the power of the written word dictating just about everything of how people interpreted what the image stood for. Down to the "ei".
Yes, it's nothing more than a really random picture book.
I asked a few friends to give me two unrelated words, threw them in, and worked around them. I do admit to not using the word 'dynamite' mostly because I got lazy. But, think of the possibilities!
The calm before the shockwave...
The other little limit I had was to use Fluttershy images only, because posting pics of everyone else would have lessened the impact of what was trying to be constructed here. It was for science, people.
Note: At this moment in time, 13 people have clearly been overwhelmed by my genius, and in a drivel of mad ecstasy accidentally clicked on downvote, but I forgive them, for there's only so much you can do in the face of Fluttershy reaction images.
Anyway, I hope you did enjoy it and are more or less prepared for my next, randomly posted, randomness. Of random.
I FUCKING TOLD YOU TO USE "DYNAMITE"
WHAT DO YOU EVEN WANT FROM ME
1729606 IT WAS TOO MUCH! OR SOMETHING!
1729613 I'm sort of glad it didn't, though... would have pissed off people because I 'stole their place
Randomosity.
Huh. That's what you were going for? Neat. If I had known it was a experiment in multimedia narratives and word disassociation...
Well, I loved it regardless. Maybe I'd have upvoted it twice somehow?
In any case, you should definitely provide a link to this blog at the end of the story, if only to lessen the risk of future readers being overwhelmed by your staggering genius.
I hearby quote Trixie:
Was there ever any doubt?
~Skeeter The Lurker
It was pretty funny, in a horrific sort of way
I figured you were going for something like that.
Now what about that wonderful twist at the end? Where did that come from?

I thought the use of pictures to enhance the story clever, and the whole thing quite funny indeed. Now that I know about it, however, I am disappointed that you didn't use dynamite. That would have been...interesting, to say the least.
My actual reaction was pretty much this:

Yes that is me.
In all honesty, I feel this was a pretty lazy and forced attempt. Okay, a picture is worth a thousand words, but we are here to read stories, not to look at pictures - if I wanted to look at a funny Fluttershy image, I would go to derpibooru (or whatever your primary pony pic website is) and searched for "funny" and "Fluttershy", not come to FIMFiction. A picture can enhance storytelling, but it is not a story in itself. I dived into this fic expecting a funny, random story; instead, I got random Fluttershy reaction images, and I feel selling this work as a piece of writing was actually rather dishonest. I don't have anything against exploring and trying out new things, and kudos for coming up with this new idea, but I still don't think that it could justify the laziness and dishonesty I felt.
Sorry for my rambling, I just wanted to make you know that I downvoted it for a reason, not just because I felt cranky or something. It was a creative attempt, but (in my personal opinion) one that ultimately failed.
1740278 And I appreciate the fact that you went out of your way to express your opinion! I'm sorry it felt like a let down, though!
I'm actually interested in what happened next. Any sequel planned?
3363187 Sadly no

Aw dag it.
Seeing how unasumingly non cloppy the story was id wager that what happened next wasn't that cloppy in nature either.
Also do you know of any form of vissual representation of chaosed fluttershy?
3363230 'fraid there isn't one

Dang it, again.
