Cadance of Cloudsdale (so far) now in Spanish!

Thanks to the generous SPANIARD KIWI, the text of Cadance of Cloudsdale so far is now in Spanish! Mr. Kiwi has done a tremendous amount of work translating many of my stories into Spanish, but this goes above and beyond. If you're curious, you may visit the project so far here at this

    Happy Cadance Day 2024!

Things feel a bit subdued today, due to the coincidence of Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday through a quirk of the liturgical calendar. It is somewhat difficult to juxtapose the splash of corporate-encouraged love with the festival that literally exists to remind us of our mortality. The pink of Valentine's washes against the purple of Lent. So I'm in a pensive mood, more so than usual on this

    Ciderfest is a wrap!

Just got home from PVCF and it was an amazing con experience! The minific-based ARG that circulated around the con the whole weekend was high-concept, and I was worried about engagement, but everyone seemed to really get into searching out the hard-to-find stories concealed around the convention hall (in places as obscure as "the desktop wallpaper on one of the monitors in the video game room,

Hey, frustrated authors! · 4:35pm Apr 29th, 2012

Do you have a story that's going nowhere? A story that sounded good on paper and initial conceptualization but that eventually turns out to be fundamentally flawed in some major way, so much so that you can't continue? For example, does your story take place in an already-overstuffed genre of Ponyfic, contain way too many OC's to be easily digested, and require far too much plodding detail in between your money-shot scenes? Like mine does? And yet, you still can't get the characters' voices out of your head, until you do something to realize them, if only fleetingly?

Why not try commissioning some art?

My chosen artist's ponies do not have a very "canon" appearance, inasmuch as they're a lot closer to actual Earth equines than you see in the show, but I liked that feel for the weird, semi-twisted, semi-dark story that this was going to be. Also, the swirly acrylic backgrounds fit my intended tone a lot better than I think my words would have.

(Individual character shots are in the works but not yet complete for all. I shan't bother posting all the links, other than to say that Fever Pitch, the Discordian Element of Loyalty, is totes my baby.)

Yeah, getting a picture of your ponies can do wonders in kicking that writer's block loose. Nice pic, too!

I'm guessing that Weather Eye is Laughter and Midnight Rendezvous is Generosity?

Weather Eye is actually "Generosity", while Midnight is "Kindness"; at least, that's Twilight's perception of things. It... doesn't quite work out that way, for complicated reasons, but the full explanation would require the actual story, which probably shouldn't be spoiled here on the off, off, off chance that someday it comes into actual literary being.

Great suggestion, Skywriter! Funny thing... I actually just did that last week! :rainbowlaugh: (I'm expecting the final pic sometime this week.)

Sounds interesting.... Yet, I feel more entitled to the textual form.:ajsmug:

Need moneh to commission artworks.

Show me when you get it! Unless it's icky!

Sadly, yes. In this case, though, better than the alternative.

92029 But that is, indeed, my problem. I don't have any spare money. :P I would love to see how somebody like White Diamonds Limited would draw Sour Grapes, but I can't afford a commission.
