Going Up: Now Available in Spanish · 2:05am Oct 20th, 2013

It's all there in the title, really: a gentleman calling himself WidowPeak contacted me a few weeks ago, to ask about translating and posting a Spanish version of my fanfic, Going Up. To me, that's an incredible compliment; translating is hard work to begin with, doubly so in a non-technical field like fiction, and triply so when the story in question has a lot of wordplay or phrasiological humor, which can't necessarily just be rendered literally. A good translation requires both technical skill and no small amount of creative writing ability, and I'm honored that someone was willing to spend the kind of time and effort necessary to wrestle something I wrote into another language.

WidowPeak finished yesterday, and now you can see all that hard work for yourself. If you speak Spanish, you should definitely check it out, and let him know how he did! And if, by any chance, you're learning Spanish in school, here's a homework assignment that won't make you hate yourself! Unless reading my story makes you hate yourself to begin with, but I hope that's not the case. In any case, practice makes perfect, and what better practice is there than ponyfiction?

Read Going Up Hacia Arriba here.

I think it's so cool when that happens! I found that someone had translatedEasy as Pie into Korean a while back. I just thought that was the best compliment. I wish I spoke Spanish so that I could check it out!

Oh, why couldn't I retain those four years of Spanish classes?! :raritydespair:

Awesome, Chris. Your story deserves to be read far and wide.

Oh my godess! You even wrote a journal about it! /)º3º(\

You have no idea how much I have to struggle with puns, plays on words and all that stuff. But t is worth it. :pinkiehappy: A good story is always pleasant to work with. It's been a pleasure to work with your fiction. It was nice to have a short, simple and nice tale, the rest I have worked with are much longer, complex and dark.

Can I suggest to add a link in the description of the story itself?

(Does anyone knows if there is some way to change your nickname?)
