I LOVED the freakin' song when it came out! That post-Grunge period really did have some great stuff come out of it. Cake. Beck. The Eels. White Town. The Cardigans. Dead Eye Dick. The rise of the Big Beat Movement. I wasn't all that hot on Grunge, but that period after was awesome. Music distibutors had no idea what the new sound was, so they were just throwing anything out there to see what stuck.
Unfortunately, what ended up sticking eventually was boy bands like N'synce and pop princesses like Brittney Spears, but it was pretty good listening for the couple of years before that.
