Fanfiction Reading Update #14 · 10:09am Jun 13th, 2013

>write 3,300 words of chapter
>realize you forgot to include Spike and will have to rewrite half the chapter
Regent's never gonna get finished. At least there's plenty of other fanfics to read...

Re:Harmony updates yet again as Applejack mounts a rescue mission of Twilight and the others and the Fluttershy Arc carries on.

That's the only update, now onto possible new favorited stories.

The Gift of Love is tentatively favorited for some relaxing Twilestia on the condition it's formatting improves in the next chapter.

The War For Summer is favorited for its absolutely absurd premise that makes me wonder what the High Court would think of all the shenanigans.

Last Friday Night is cut after two chapters for being a little too OOC for my Suspension of Disbelief's liking.

A lot of oneshots today.

Say It helps show that clopfics are all well and good, but nothing can beat some snuggling with adorkable Twilight.

Confide shows off some very interesting headcanon in the form of a letter from Celestia to Twilight.

One takes us back to the events of NMM's birth and the importance that a single action has.

Count the Stars My Twilight takes us to an AU where Celestia shows Twilight the wonders of the night sky.

Lullaby for a Future Princess has Celestia telling the tale of two sisters and jealousy to a sleepy filly Twilight.

Fade Away may be another “Who Wants to Live Forever?” Twilicorn story, but it brings enough to the table to remain interesting and maybe give some feels if you didn't have a cold, dead heart like I do.

Goodbye Party is yet another “Who Wants To Live Forever?” Twilicorn fanfic, this time with Pinkie playing the role of wise old mare.

Her Hardest Duty is a, you guessed it, “Who Wants To Live Forever?” Twilicorn story that also shows some new stuff not seen before. It's also favorited. Now if only someone would subvert this type of story already.

And that's all I read for the day.

# of story updates remaining: 70.
# of “Read Later” stories remaining: 504.

I reccomend http://www.fimfiction.net/story/105172/the-bonds-of-friendship for a subversion of WWtLF Twilicorn

WWtLF Twilicorn is getting really, really old. I'm glad you're pointing them outr so I can avoid them.

I read Say It yesterday and I love it. It's a shame that it won't continue-- I'd like to see more from that fic.

I'ma read Confide and The Gift of Love now

I reccomend Diaries Of a Madman Just for how good of story it is and the length of it :P

...maybe give some feels if you didn't have a cold, dead heart like I do.

Feelings are overrated.

(looks at the reading list)

Some really interesting stuff I've read and put on my list, but darn, none of my stuff. :pinkiehappy:

'sokay, everyone forgets Spike.

Oh man, i just realized... Spike and Angel. Does that make Fluttershy Buffy?

Wouldn't RealityCheck's stuff count as a subversion?

Part of the reason there's so few subversions of WWTLF is that feeling totally fine about immortality doesn't present any conflict. So you have to write about some other conflict, so the immortality becomes just a part of the greater work, and then noone notices because all MLP fanfics have background immortaility.

(Of course you can have stories which aren't conflict-driven in the first place, but that's less common.)
