Okay, chapter five is essentially done. ^_^ Chapter one is also back from my betas now, and it looks like I have some touching up to do with it. I also need to go back and fix up chapter three a bit more to match the changes I made in four. After all that is said and done, I'll move on to Chapter 06, which will be the last one in the prelude arc. Then comes AJ, Big Mac, and the CMC!
In other news, the amazingly talented mare who drew the Mender pictures AND hand painted the custom Mender figure for me is now making me a Mender plushie! =o Is anypony interested in pictures once I get it? (She's also threatening me with sewing a 'sheath' on him.) =(

Somepony beat me to the comment! Although in all fairness, it's really hard to do a synapses of the chapters as a teaser without giving away the plot of the previous chapter. So in all likelihood, included characters is the best you're gonna get.

Hmm, 12 more chapters (or so), averaging 1 every week and change (math sake 1.5 weeks), that would be about 18 weeks, so about 4.5 months. Good news for me! I should be done with my required testing for my upgrade training by then which means I won't have to decide between reading this and doing my work at home
