Afterthoughts of Finding A Way Elsewhere + Fic Recommendation · 6:58pm February 11th
Wow. The reception to this fic has been insane. Thank you all for the support. I've been keeping my eyes on the comments and I'm just super happy with the finished product. Happy that you all enjoyed it as much as I had writing it.
Speaking of, let's talk about that part right now. It's a pretty good time as any. The story this time around was inspired by there being a lack thereof of an Anon x Tempest/Fizzlepop fic that wasn't rated M. I've been looking for characters that have this issue, and Tempest was the first in line for me. Story drafting took place without even watching the movie immediately, as I've read quite a bit of her from other writers, so recreating her voice seemed like a cakewalk. Then I watched the movie, and then I changed my way of drafting her voice. Think doing it this way made it so much better in the end.
Additionally, I had teased the fic with 5.9k words thinking it was done, and then ChaosPaladin comes in from left field to save the day. I had written Anon a bit too weirdly to say the least, so with his help, I went back to reassess the damage, and then actually wrote him correctly. This portion alone took 2k-2.5k words to rehash. Another 1k was spent on making sure Tempest wasn't OOC. Hence why the end result is so much more beefier in word count. I'm super proud with what I and my pre-readers were able to pull together. So, shoutout to ChaosPaladin and Rikkity oncemore.
Now, with that being said, it's time to do something new. I've been wanting to shoutout other authors on the site for so long, and I feel like giving back is such a good thing to do. We're a community after all, and it's great to recommend other people's work.
So I'm going to do just that. If you have your notifications on for groups, you may have seen me spam folders like crazy for a fic from a friend of mine. I believe he actually snubbed himself of an audience for his fic, and it really deserves more love. Conceptually, it's a Pony on Earth fic, which is something I've never done before, and yet the legend himself Barracuda Cyborg pulled it off with relative ease. Now, note: the grammar of the fic isn't pristine. Understandably, there are some errors, but they're very minor and can easily be glossed over once you see them. The fic is awesome, a story about two dudes witnessing the sudden intrusion of ponies in their gas station. It's such a perfect slice of life/comedy idea, and I'm glad that he wrote it and shared it with the rest of FiMFic. From what I've been told, he does have something new in the works, so don't hesitate to drop him a follow to find out.
Lastly, I want to shoutout Muggonny for a happy ten years! Man has been cookin some prime fics over on his page. He will most likely be in some of my future fic recommendations, so if you want to get a head start, also check him out too!
