This isn't just the same story with minimal tweaks to make it technically not MLP. The first one was almost completely re-written. And it wasn't a lazy re-write either. The setting only seems a little bit similar if you kind of squint, only a few characters have equivalents to ponies in the original story, even those few have largely different roles to play, and it ends up in a significantly different place. Even parts that needed no change at all for copyright reasons were changed and added on, like most of the parts with Captain Hazalk.
So if this one is anything like the first it is definitely worth getting as its own thing and not just for its connection to the fanfiction version.

"Hard" cover just arrived, and double sized is right, you could stack 2 of the first and it still not be as stacked. This is gonna be a good weekend read. RIP my sleep til I'm done. I got my copy, and was about to start reading when I remembered you did revisions on the first one and I forgot to get a new one of that. How important are those revisions to know before I read the new one? I'm getting a new copy of the first either way, I just want to know if I should wait on starting my read.
5723661 there's a few important things, such as a better ending, and the intro to the changeling, but it's mostly spelling and grammar edits.
However, you can force your kindle version to update to the latest by going into your kindle settings and navigating to where the content is.

5723696 It used to be where creators could give out free e-books with physical purchases, and that was how the first book was set up. That option is missing, now, so either they made it standard, or removed it entirely. Either way, check Amazon to make sure you don't have the e-book.
