Hello everybronie, it is I, Posh, actor, writer, philosopher, creator of the hit series “Big Octopi in Little Delphi,” inventor, writer, occasional male escort, deposed vice-regent of Luxembourg, writer, actor, critic, writer, and overall tall drink of water. I’m here today to discuss a new trend I’ve seen in the MLP fan fiction community: Reaction stories.
What is a reaction story?
Well, a reaction story is a story where at least one character sits down, and watches a YouTube video. They react to what’s on the video. Most of the story is just the events of the video transcribed, with occasional interjections from the characters watching. Their not-at-all trite or tedious responses to the YouTube video, which is carrying the bulk of (what can generously be described as) the narrative, helps remix and enhance the experience of watching and listening to the video by giving you an in-depth look at what your favorite characters would REALLY THINK about such compelling subject matter as...

A typical story may look like this:
Scootaloo and Discord sat down in front of their Apple iPhone, eager to watch the latest video by acclaimed Red Dead Redemption content creator Strange Man.
“Gosh,” said Scootaloo, “I can’t wait to see what Strange Man will discuss in this video! His last video about the Valentine curse was really super cool!”
“Oh, nonsense,” said Discord. “I could curse twenty things fifty times faster!”
“Oh, Discord~!” said the entire town of Ponyville in unison.
The Strange Man video started with Arthur Morgan on his horse, walking through the woods. Some text on the screen said “Here are ten new Red Dead Redemption II facts!” Then a list of seventy-six patrons appeared. Scootaloo and Discord began to read them all.
“Wow! I can’t believe MilfChipmunk is a top-tier subscriber!”
“Oh look! Ballsack69 contributed to this video!”
The two of them were very excited to see all the patrons who helped make the video possible. Then, when the patron screen vanished, Strange Man’s logo appeared on the screen...
This is just a sample of the riveting content that awaits in the fascinating world of reaction stories.
