Second Order, First Order and an agreement on the party of the first and second parties?
This one needs to be welcomed to her realm by a certain Pink One.
Wonder if Squidzy will settle in Yetis old room, now that the agreemenet has been terminated?
Can't his parts have not been returned, thus his contract remains
7673090 Tabitha has yet to formally sever the contract with the yeti. The yeti did have a request about that.
They are lucky that they where not drivin insane. The new tenant looks far to close to an old one for my comfort. Hopefully they work out just fine!
7673148 just wait till the widdle ones inching along, that'll have some reactions
Time to investigate WHO KILLED THE YETI.
Could they do anything if it was the eldritch one who killed the yeti? Like, now that the contract has been signed, as long as it, moving forward, follows the rules, could it basically get away with killing the yeti because that was before the rules were in place, so as long as it technically doesn't break the rules now could it remain unpunished for the killing?
I mean, I hope it wasn't, because I'd rather see a redemption or growth arc, but I'd also rather not gloss over what it did, and that would probably best be addressed.
But it has things to answer for even if it did not directly or intentionally cause yeti's death.
7673227 In who's eyes? Justice is often subjective. According to the Old One, nothing performed before the accord can or even should be held liable in accordance to actions taken after the accord. That's what accords are for. If you pass a law calling for the ban of all automated weapons, you don't get to arrest people because they had them before the ban was placed.
This isn't to say our Old One did do it or not, but they aren't terribly concerned about it. There were few rules before, now there are a few more. It will deal with that as it is given.
this turned out vary interesting.
person was in Equestria - person was in Equestria
did spot her fey friends - did spot that her fey friends
held up that paper - held up the paper
before it come together - before it came together

A well written conclusion to truly horrifying events, and a truly bizarre new development. If I wore a hat I would doff it for you, Mr. Silver.
Definitely an ending, possibly even a happy one in the sense that I'm glad they made it through without losing anyone else. There is still the creature from the second floor to lay to rest.
I would hope that article one of the contract is that the old one is responsible for clearing out all of the hitchhikers that followed it in as well as for repairing or replacing all the damage its arrival caused.
I had meant to mention that Bubbles must have leveled her constitution between entering the twisted halls and now. She tossed her cookies when they encountered the siren, but held it together when the [yeti] was torn apart in front of them all. I suppose it could be that they were all numbed to the events by that point as well.
They might all need a professional friend after what they have seen, as well. I hope that Coco did what she said she would do and found someplace safe. I also hope she stayed there and didn't get it in her head to come and 'help' due to guilt. I further hope that nothing else escaped into the physical world that might seek her (or other tenants) out while the others were tied up fighting their way to the old one.
Now that I think on it, they will need to do a physical and/or magical sweep of the entire building and possibly the surrounding area to ensure that no horrors escaped or to deal with any that have. We can rest somewhat easy, due to the fact that nothing was mentioned in the Silver Saga as anything that huge would be difficult to handle discretely.

So, no. There weren't rules against it before (well, you know, rules he considered valid, anyway), therefore it's impossible to hold him accountable for it.
To be frank, it also sounds like anyone who would want to is a bad person for wanting to, as far as you are considered. They just need to get over the death of their friend or comrade.
There are even good reasons why he shouldn't be held accountable like wartime rules where you can't retaliate against a foe after peace is brokered, just for peace's sake, even if that for attacked you first, but the argument that there just wasn't a rule against it at the time is a pretty flimsy one.
Same kind of reason why Sombra was let off, right? I mean, according to his very laws slavery was legal, therefore he cannot be punished for cruelly enslaving people and probably shouldn't have been even deposed: he didn't break any laws, after all.
7673432 I'm glad the arc came to a satisfying conclusion. Endings, not my specialty, as I'm sure you've noticed.
The yeti needs to be dealt with, hopefully with respect and in accordance to his final words.
To think, if it hadn't specifically ordered the spear be given to someone, it would probably be buried with it.
The Old One has little grasp of feeble mortal rules, but it seems to understand and respect a proper agreement. Will that be enough?
Speaking of, how did the description of its speech patterns work?
7673450 As far as I am considered? My opinion hardly matters in this case.
I certainly would not desire a cthonic horror to come and murder someone, especially someone I like.
But there is a matter of scale. Such a creature is a human, and we, ants. We can shake our legs at it and click our mandibles, but how much 'justice' can we properly bring to bare? A nip on its tentacle may annoy it.
Getting it to agree to certain rules is a big accomplishment.
But, back to the ants, just how well can an ant colony press charges on the human that casually crushes an untold multitude of their number, possibly without even knowing they were there? Is it fair? No. Will that change? Probably not. Sucks to be the ant in this equation.
7673502
That is certainly true.
Pfftt almost hentai, almost!
At least she didn't look like the martian from Jeff Wayne's version of War of the Worlds.

The description of an old one's speech patterns was lovely, don't worry about that.
Well, now they have a pregnant pony'thullu in the building. It does say a lot about what we've seen on this fic that it doesn't surprise me at all.

I think it was written just fine. In my head I imagined the style of the deadite voices from Evil Dead II, but with less distortion, and figured that was what you were going for.
As for this arc of the story. I think you've played some high emotional value cards here, with the existential threat to the whole of Equestria let alone the characters we've come to know and respect, and the outright killing of a main character. I'm curious/eager now to see what you do to start building our emotional investment back up again.
7673773 It's not as if everything is neatly packaged. Just about every person there has something to deal with.
7673854
True, they've literally seen things that no sane mortal person was ever intended to see, and that includes Spring and Horpip. Elves and gnomes may live a good long while, but they are still mortal in the end.
7673881 Those two were also served a big helping of humble pie.
Awe, such a cute Cthulhu! (even before the pic) the rotational-multivoice was a nice touch.
Sometimes all you need to do is talk.
Keep going! ;)
7673898
Eeyup, you made it clear at the end that, the losses they suffered were from lesser creatures that still managed to subdue a siren and kill in gruesome fashion their most physically powerful member.
Could they have won against the old one? To judge by its words and actions it would have been close enough that it was worried about the outcome and ready to make a deal. But the writing on the wall (no pun intended, Ki) makes it seem certain that the price might have cost them more than they could pay and still walk away when it was over, a pyrrhic victory at best.
Now, they had all better do their level best to win it over to the side of friendship because it's only bound by the agreement to behave and play nice until one party or the other decides to terminate the lease, and if there isn't something in place to keep things cordial when/if that day comes, they'll be back to square one.
Hmm... I sure have a lot to say lately.
7674025 As if I mind when you speak. There was another factor, a heavy one, that made talking an option, instead of where it might have gone.
The true hero here is entirely unsung.
7674033
He could be an honorary Warlock, and in that spirit, they would not actually recognize him in any fashion, even if they somehow knew. users.on.net/~damageinc/emoji/discordsad.png
7674033
7674052 It's not like the D-man didn't get anything out of it. He got his very own human to play with. Of course it turned out to be a bit of a fixer-upper, and those incarnate alter-egos are bound to cause headaches sooner or later... but hey, the point is he did get SOMETHING.
7673148
The new tenet is an Old One. The elf blatantly said as much. Though even without the picture it already sounded like pony-form Cthulhu, to be more precise.
With its power I would think they could have had it bring back the Yeti.
