Story Milestone - Lightbearers Rough Draft · 11:47pm Nov 13th, 2017
Well, after numerous setbacks and delays, I'm finally back on track to finishing this mess.
We were somewhere around Ponyville, on the edge of the Everfree, when the Poison Joke began to take hold.

When I get bored and annoyed with politics.
Possibly NSFW due to language, so behind a cut.
Was reading the episode review and some of the comments on EQD, and I have to say, this one really struck home for me. It is on the way to becoming one of my favorite episodes of the series.
I finally have the notes and timeline finished on Lightbearers. Completely and totally.
I am finally finished with all the preliminary stuff, and have started on the first draft. Things are really kicking into gear now; at this rate, I should have the first draft finished and ready for editing within another year or year and a half.
Finally getting back in the groove on Lightbearers, thanks to finding some tools that have helped me to organize my notes in a far more effective manner than previously. I'm still well behind my intended schedule for an early-summer first draft; but at this rate hope to have it written sometime around mid-summer, and to start publishing around the end of the year. We'll see if the revised schedule holds up, or if things get pushed back even farther. I'm certainly not planning to rush this
Gah, I finally have all the notes for Lightbearers done, and now I cannot wrap my fucking head around it. I can't even figure out where the fuck I was trying to go with it. Trying to put this monster together is an exercise in frustration and depression, nothing is making a single damned bit of sense and I want to just throw it all out and pretend it never happened. I think the only reason I don't is the fact that it's a fucking year's worth of work at this point and my brain won't let go of
Having spent some time on FiMFiction reviewing stories for several groups (Story Standards, Blunt Reviews, and Rage Reviews), I see a lot of tag abuse, mostly overuse of genre tags, conflicting genre tags, and so on. Tag cancer. But I have quickly come to realize that the most misused of the lot is very probably the "Alternate Universe" tag. Few other tags are abused to the extent this one is.
Well, I'm done with my notes. I've finally finished up 68558 words of notes on my main plot thread, just a hair shy of my 70,000 word goal, giving a total of 150,008 words between all of the major story threads, not including secondary story notes, which amounts to another couple thousand.
Despite all the crap going on, I have managed to get some time and brain focus together enough to make significant progress on my current story project. I've just completed the last of the work needed on my four subplots, with roughly 20,000 words worth of notes and scenes for each, give or take (one is a a few thousand words shorter, and one is a few thousand longer, so overall they more or less reach my 80,000 word target).
As anypony who has been following my comments in certain groups is likely aware, I consider Displaced to be cancer. Something that is inherently worthless, and which does not belong on FiMFiction. The only "good" Displaced stories are satires, parodies, and piss-takes of the genre. I've not changed that attitude in any way.
However, I may end up writing one. Sort of.
