Despite all the crap going on, I have managed to get some time and brain focus together enough to make significant progress on my current story project. I've just completed the last of the work needed on my four subplots, with roughly 20,000 words worth of notes and scenes for each, give or take (one is a a few thousand words shorter, and one is a few thousand longer, so overall they more or less reach my 80,000 word target).
Now I only have the notes for the primary plot thread to finish up, which I have roughly 70% completed at this time -- 49,000 words out of a 70,000 word goal. Once that's completed, then it's time to start writing the story proper, which should end up somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 words long, depending on how everything works out. No doubt I'll be changing a lot of things, deleting and adding large chunks of text, during the actual story-writing process.
With sufficient motivation, and no further horribleness happening, I hope to have a draft ready for editing by early summer. Given enough time, I'm also planning to have completed a major revision of one of my already-published stories (written for a prompt, so the deadline prevented me from going through my normal painstaking editing process), and possibly one or two one-shots as well.
