Please forgive my random non-pony commercial break, but I'm excited over here. Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate is one of the most engaging turn-based strategy games I've ever played, and it's finally available again via legitimate and not-super-expensive channels. It plays a lot like X-Com (old school X-Com... I haven't got around to the new ones yet), but it draws deep from the well of madness that is Warhammer
Disclaimer: The following was written as a (successful) attempt to punch writer's block in the face and get a stuck story moving. It is incomplete and does not represent the direction that story is currently taking. Yet it could be the start of something interesting, and it is presented in the spirit of free horsewords for all.
Right now I'm feeling the weird (kinda-) opposite of writer's block, like several partial ideas are all trying to escape my head at the same time and are just stuck flailing limply at each other.
Can I just throw some ideas out there and ask which ones you think deserve a hand getting through that door?

So I made some minor edits to A Very Cranky Hearth's Warming and re-did its cover art. Gotta love Inkscape and DeviantArt for enabling non-artistic types like myself to have decent looking covers on the cheap!
